Aluminum Pulleys Ralco VS Unorthodox Racing

I'm trying to decide which brand pulleys to go with. I'm staying stock diameter size. Excelerate performance sells a unorthodox racing set for $325 or I found a company on ebay called ultra rev parts that sells a ralco set for $199. I can probably get them even cheaper since they have a make a offer option. Says they sold 30 sets. The main thing I want to know is there a big difference quality and weight wise?

Excelerate performance:

Ultra rev parts:

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

RALCO - cheap imitation company who took UR pulleys and sent them to China to duplicate. Lack of quality control. Improperly machined parts. I've had experience and seen it firsthand.

UR - Pulley Pioneer. Strict quality control. 0 gram balanced. CNC machined.

On a part this important I wouldn't skimp. Get the UR pulleys because it's worth the price and the peace of mind.

I'm not saying you have to buy UR pulleys from us either; buy them from another vendor if you want. But get the UR pulleys if this is a modification you want to do.

lot of us who wanted the UD pulley went with the option racing pulley which was like 20$ shipped and i don't recall anyone having an issue.

it's just a piece or aluminum milled out. the difference between the option and say another brand worth 200 shipped for the pulley is barely anything.

i've been on my 20$ UD pulley now for 60000kms and she's a beauty

That's good to hear. Well I've been going back and forth on offers with the company on ebay. I might be able to get the complete set for $125 lol.

Did you notice a difference over the stock pulleys with the new set?

Yea look around. You can get a good deal every now and then on a set.
I got a complete set on a auction for 63 bucks I think.
Do I think a deal like that might pop up,not likely.
But,you can get them waaaaay cheaper than retail.
If I was short on funds and the UR pullys were not available for under 200 and I wanted a whole set I would definitly try the ralco's unless of course they were heavier.

If this guy will come down on the price I will most likely get the ralco set. If he doesn't I will go with the unorthodox set from excelerate performance. He can do $300 shipped and will ship it with my side mount since there finally in stock lol.

You didn't notice the a/c not feeling as efficient or the power steering being harder at idle? Another reason why I'm going to use stock size is because I might put a amp and sub in my car at a later time. I would need the extra rpm at idle for the alternator.

i have a volt gauge hooked up to the car and if ur at idle with the lights on and music blasting the gauge goes down slowly.

if u have everything on including the a/c it starts going down fast and they levels off at 12v or so... only thing u'll notice is the a/c fan getting weaker and the lights dim ever so slightly.

but u need everything on at once to get that to happen.

i don't have a system or else i wouldn't reccomend the u/d pulley.
as for craftsmanship, it's a damn good piece for 20 dollars. but yes it does underdrive the alternator a fair amount which can be noticeable at idle.

the stock sized underdrive pulley is what i'd get is i had a system and or S/C since u need the stock sized pulley.

then again u could always change the alternator pulley size to a smaller on so it would spin just as fast as before yet underdrive the other accessories.

That's because these aren't made anymore. We have them made exclusively for us so for them to make one pulley at a time they have to sell it at a ridiculous price.

There is no need to spend $1,000 because we stock them and sell them for $215.

I just said the same in his build thread.
I'm feeling like I need to get mine drilled out too.
Fox body ,you might as well add 5 holes to the power steering pully too.You will have the lightest pulley set up.

That's why I asked in post number 26. Thankfully I have the one with more holes lol. It feels better especially on the top end. More peppy through out the entire rpm range also.

More importantly, your throttle response will be much better with really fast revs.
