aluminum pipeing for CT icebox

Has anybody ever done an aluminum elbow for their Icebox from the box to the throttlebody? I think im going to do this i just wondered if others have. Since its a smooth pipe instead of the CT rippled one, i think it will help with the airflow a little bit(obviosly not alot) and it would look a bit more trick. I found nothing in searching so i thought id post. What do you guys think?

waste of time, money, and resources. CT's design is proven. leave it alone.

plastic is better since it will insulate the air better than aluminum (i.e. cooler intake temps).

x 2.

Also, Aluminum is not as easy to keep from getting bent. The plastic is more durable IMO.

w/ all of the above. Plastic will definitely keep the air cooler, that's why CT made it out of plastic to begin with.

i agree with all you guys but wont the airflow be better with the smooth piping?(forget about insulation for a sec) and if i do coat it somehow(ie jethot) that would surpass the plastic with insulating too right? and IMO it would def look a bit cooler in the engine bay.
just thinking

I used smooth Samco hose connections instead of the rippled comptech ones. I had the same thought of smoothing out the air flow. I found Pep boys had these generic ones for like $5 apiece. I paid $12 plus shipping a piece for the Samco silicone ones.
