For all u guys that got the tranny replaced other then the DLR where and how much?

For all u guys that got the tranny replaced other then the DLR where and how much?

My car is sitting at the DLR right now with a bad trans..
Trans #3 that went bad..The DLR will Goodwill me 10%..
Thanks alot so it will ONLY cost me $4100 that will last me 70K miles the most..
Im in North NJ did anyone ever get there tranny fix/replaced at a independent shop and how much did it cost and how long did it last ?

Thanks guys..I am soo pissed right now!

Please just make sure you have it done at a local shop. Don't give in to the deals you can find outta state. Long story short, I had a 8 month ordeal with an out of state rebuilder that involved shipping it back and forth 5 times and finally having to have Visa credit me back when they refused to refund my money. Having a place you can walk into and bitch at someone when there's a problem (during or after the rebuild) is worth any money you might save online.

in person is much better when dealing with this stuff. AAMCO has a lifetime warranty for an extra 1k. I think that would make it 4k total for a tranny with a lifetime warranty. go check it out.

Sounds like it'd be worth it with these trannys. Local chains seem to be a good bet. They did one of my trannys and did a great job. Installed a kit and everything. Even did some upgrades I requested (brazed fins on the torque converter, added steel to 3rd-4th, and raised the stall amongst other things).

Thanks guys I called ACURA corperate and told them that they SHOULD take care of it 50/50 and if they do if not Im taking it somewhere else.. I all-ready called AAMCO and made a appointment for mondey, so if acura dont help me w/50% (which they should being its the 3rd tranny gonna be my 4th) and I got the fluid changed w/them 3 times in the 68K i had this trans and my fiance and sister have a acura cuz of me..
But we will see?
