And gtech.com is not their website.

Is the correct address...

Well we all remember the hype that we all went through when we recieved our 1st gen GTech. I loved it the moment I got it. Shit right out of the box I was doing 14.2 stock . Not untill last month I really got to test it out. I went ot the track and did a 14.905, GTech 13.7. I did have the thing leveled out 0.0. Turning the box inverted read a 9.9 G. But still is that gonna give me a 13.7.

Well we are gonna have to see what this is gonna do for us. 3 sensors, graphs, capable of reading RPMs through the lighter socket. Those are all great things.

I have still yet to find a place that sells it cheap OL. Anyone know of any?

Make sure you have it mounted correctly, and have the right weight dialed in! See if the track has a scale, and weight in before using it next time. Makes a big difference.

Also it has to be level with the ground. Or the readings will be way off...

I found mine to be within +/- .1

wierd... Most of the errors I've seen with it come from user intervention. Not the device.

U must be thinkign of the HP feature. I had the thing leveled out,on level ground, and secured. Since day 1 that thing never worked right.
I just can't seem to understand how u guys were accurate to .1 of ur real 1/4 times.

Well, answers my question on my post. I had the first gtech pro on a camaro. I could never get that thing level to measure HP. I got my 0-60 best of 5.14. If I get that for my CL, I'll know it's off!

You should wait a bit...

And, to get complete compensation for bumps, etc, you need 6-sensors (3-accelerometers, 3 rate sensors).

The new unit is going to be much better, but if you try and use the thing on a bumpy track or road, you might not get very accurate results.

I've talked about this before, so...

It does have some very nice download features and combined with the rev sensing should allow for graphing of torque vs. rpm.

Mine had problems with the 60-0 braking measurements. I called them up to see what I was doing wrong and they said the old units had some bugs in the software. They replaced mine with a brand new unit and it works fine now. If you're still within the warranty period, give 'em call to see if they can help.

I thought you only had to put in weight to measure H.P. I looked at their site recently and it indicated for 0-60 and quarter all you do is plug in and go with extremely accurate readings. For $249, it should be.

Summit Racing is the prefered vendor (according to GTECH).

This has probably changed with time.

All the prices I've seen are $249.95 or very, very close.

And, It is a GTECH PRO COMPETITION.

It is not to be confused with the regular GTECH PRO ($149.95).

If you want a cheaper price you will probably need to look around. Also, since the software is basically undergoing change, you might get a better price when some of the "overhead" of running a de facto beta program comes to an end.

YMMV

To compute HP/TQ you need mass (weight).

If you think $249 is too expensive, just wait a few years
