Pretty sweet Nicky!!! They've done a good job...
And in time, quit making excuses and switch out that POS stock
headunit...
You will be able to keep steering wheel controls with a special adapter....

$3K includes....
JL 500/1 and 300/4 amps=$1000
JL Evolution 6.5 components and 6x9s=$500
JL 10W7=$650(when I bought it before)
Capacitor=$125
Previous install (sub and 500/1 only)=$100
Converters/adaptors/wiring=$150
The customizing of the trunk (fiberglass/lighting)=$400

I don't think it was that bad of a price
They were originally gonna use wood only, they suprised me with te fiberglass work and some of the lighting

I swapped out all the internal speakers and kept the stock 6-disk in-dash by using a Navone LOC. This thing is awesome! With the 9.5V output, I have the gain on my RF amp turned all the way down and it hits deafening levels at about 1/2 way on the HU. (driving McIntosh 6.5" and MB Quart 1" in the front @ 4ohm, and KEF 6x9 2-way @ 8ohm in the rear)

No distortion. When I ran these speakers off the Bose amp, it would distort at 2/3 volume.

hey nicky.. i am happy for you if you are happy, but you got charged alot for nothing... Thats NOT enough glass to even think of saying you have a fiberglass trunk.. unless your pics do not do it justice.. and custom lighting???!!!! it s a 2 foot neoen tube mounted at the base of your trunk?! whats so custom????

I do not mean to hate on you, but after the anticipation you put us through.. I am! BUT like I said, if you happy thats what matters... not what I think!

Well......It may not be that "custom", but my original sketch was really simple.......everything flush with a cover board, which was what I was quoted for. Then I go to pick up my car, and it looks the way it does. The guys at AutoSound called me and said that they had to deviate from the sketches.....originally, they were gonna hide all of the wiring and capacitor, then I get it back and I THINK it looks good. In all reality, I paid $300 for labor, which includes building the box too!

No offense but that sub looks awfuly small. If your going to pay 3k to have your whole system re-done wouldnt you opt for a bigger one?

That sub can hit harder then 2 12s!!! I speak from experience, seeing his system. Good job on the install Nicky. How does the sub sound in a selaed enclosure? Does it still get loud? What box size did they use for the enclosure?

It still gets loud......not as loud as the ported box, but it is way more musically accurate. The box is 1.30 cubic ft. It souds just the way I want it......I'm going to get an EQ in a month or so to do some fine tuning
