Alarm going off by itself... Anyone have this too?
Its 4am, and I woke up to my alarm going off by itself... Its a factory alarm with no sensors. Very unlikely someone's been tampering with my car... I press unlock, and relock the car and go back to sleep. Now about an hour ago I lock the car and head inside... Immediately the alarm goes off again. At this point I have to think something's wrong electrically...
Its a 2001 model @ 100k+ miles, so I understand if random problems occur. With no major fixes as of yet, its been an awesome car so far. But if I can't find a fix for this soon, I'll probably start hearing it from my neighbors... Hopefully this is an easy fix, and that you guys here have seen this problem before. Any ideas? Much thanks!

im having a similar problem. my remote is dead, completely, and i dont have time to get a new one. so if i lock the door from the outside with my key and then try to unlock it, it will set the alarm off. BUT if i lock it from the inside on my way out and then unlock it with the key, nothing...

/\ what he said, i see this alot with Legend's the door lock switch goes bad and cause this to happen.
If its starts to get bad, here's an easy trick to do, pop the hood, tehre should be a switch near the latch that tells the alarm the hood is closed (which if the hood is open, it wont set the alarm) unbolt the switch and leave it. This might work for you until you get the door lock switch taken care of.

we always carry in stock a hood latch because of this issue at the dealership.
quite commun problem, a kind of thing you replace once in the life of the car.
the latch switch grounds itself
you can unplug the connector at the latch.
