Air Filter Cleaning Kits
Does anyone know of any kits available to clean the air filter that comes with the AEM CAI and where I could find them? I tried a search but found nothing. I noticed Comptech sells a "cleaning kit", but I though it was for their drop-in filter.

K&N air filter cleaning kit... You can find it anywhere on the web for about 10-15 bucks... and a can of compressed air..
Just follow the directions on the box and you'll be fine... Clean your filter however you wish. I am just telling what I use to get the dirt out of the corners.
Smitty
P.S. Show me a friggin filter that you ripped with a fuckin 3 dollar can of compressed AIR???.... your smokin crack.... The oil on the filter element traps the dirt. When you clean the filter your removing the oil from the element, along with the dirt.

DON'T USE COMPRESSED AIR!!!!!
WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T USE COMPRESSED AIR, you'll only end up tearing the filter up.
The recommended course of action is to just run water (very low pressure) from the inside of the filter to the outside (clean side to dirty side), this will gently wash the dirt & rocks out, if you use compressed air & blow from the dirt side to the clean (outside to in) you risk lodging the dirt, rocks, and whatever other kinds of crap on the filter into the filter element itself.. You can buy the K & N filter charger kit at any auto parts store, I bought mine at Pepboy's. If you can't find a Pepboy's, you can also try most 4x4 shops, they should have it in stock.
