after church races

wed night after I left church, I pulled up to the light and next to me was a mid 80s camaro convert, but I looked at him and he kinda smiled as to blow me off or something, then the light turned and we hit it, we both barked our tires but I caught befor he did and it was pretty much over from there, by the time I hit 60mph I had about a car lenth on him, but after that, I triedf to play some more, but he never came back up to play, Id kinda like to know what he had, V6 or V8, but by the look of it he had a weak V6, but non-the less, it was fun.

Nice! Probably was a V8. If he hadn't done any work on it they weren't that potent, especially the 305's. If it was a 350 EFI or TPI you would have had a little better race.

I gotta agree with the rest of the gang the older 305s(from GM)(like the car you decribed) had less balls than a fixed cat .
now I'd think twice about doing that against a new camaro ss with a LT1 motor. (If i remember right the SS (the new ones) came out of the factory with 325 or 335 HP(somewhere in that ballpark) I have a buddy that has a 86 Mustang 5.0 stick with a 4.10 gears in it he COMPETELY rebuilt it,(had it bored something like .030 over, had forged pistons and rods put in, roller cam and a bunch of other crap like a Hurst Shifter)(he was suppose to put a Supercharger on it over winter just I haven't talked to him since summer) anyhow he claimed he competely SMOKED a new Camero SS, and a Supra TT(street racing)(the Supra was stock except for springs and a computer chip) I've followed him(like when we worked together leaving the parking lot) you can just listen to the motor tell it has some balls. Plus he's the classic redneck 5.0 owner who hates ricers. He was loving it when he beat that Supra.(Since I like Imports I bet for a week I got RIPPED) I'm hopeing some day I see a souped up Supra(like cranking 400-500 HP) and I'm gonna pay that dude to beat this guy.(it will be a good race if he put on his S/C)plus he said with ricers/Front Wheel drive hot rods blow because at the strip when you spin with your front tires and the tires "skate"(meaning they slide ) you have no steering tires. I said most newer FWD(front wheel drive cars) that are nicer hot rods (like the CL) has a traction control system. he said yeah that's more weight. yet this guy went and saw Fast and Furious and swore he could have took most of those cars (well maybe not the black charger but all the Supras,Jeese's Jetta, the Accords)
