After an Acura service friday, car is faster????
I went in friday to my local Acura dealer and had the guys put on my new shocks, tighten the belts, turn some rotors and lastly, adjust the accelerator linkage because it was vibrating against something (2nd time having it done). I noticed when I left the place, the distance from the pedal to the floor was decreased and no "lag" was noted at low RPM's as other 6 speeders have noticed. Throttle response was instant, didn't have to press on the pedal as far down and was noticeably quicker. I thought maybe it was in my head, but I swear the car is quicker now. I couldn't get over the difference. I'm going by the dealer monday and finding out what the service manager did or am i just plain crazy! any thoughts?

They turned some one's they had there. He said they won't keep replacing them, even though it's under warranty. In most states, if you do not have a problem fixed the 1st three times, you are entitled to a replacement vehicle or cash settlement. I went through this with the Celica I had before this.
Shocks are great. Took some curves at high speeds last night, did very well! The ride is much smoother too.
Zapata: It seems as if it did! I'm going to drive the car again later, and see if it wasn't just my imagination!

I always thought my cars ran better after an oil change but everyone always told me I was crazy. Wouldnt the accl.linkage adjustment just decrease the physical presuure needed to achieve the same RPM's ???

Ah, so true Zoot! Like the dude that I ran up on I270 around DC, with some old POS Civic EX running on steelies with Gaytezza lights :flamer: that had "Civic TypeR" badge on the back! I got beside the guy and messed with him a bit, revving up the engine, and he wouldn't even dare look over! why do people do that? Don't they know they will get made fun of?

Revving at 9K...
Is there a good way to tell if our throttle need to have to done too? Lately I feel that the car has taking longer to respond to my foot on the gas peddle..

Seriously though, even if the car isn't actually faster ... I'm sure you're glad that it feels faster to you, thats the important thing. I've noticed that oil changes make my car "feel" faster too, even if its just in my head or because the car shifts a little differently.
