After 6 years of ownership and 78k miles...
My transmission blew up. At this point the car is not worth as much as it would be to fix it. So with that, thank you very much Acurazine you've been very helpful. Time to grow up and get a truck.
So, if anyone in the Dallas area would like to swap out camber kits and OEM wheels and tires for my aftermarket stuff, message me and we can work something out before I donate the car for the write off.

If the car is in any kind of shape worth mentioning you are being a bit hasty. You can buy transmissions for these things all day long for less than a grand each and for about half that you can get an independent shop to put it in. The car will bring six grand at sale and I don't know about you but I'd put between $1500 and $2000 into a car any day knowing that I could then sell it for $6000 or so as opposed to getting a couple of hundred bucks out of its wheels and springs and then taking a write-off of what 18~20% of its low-end value for tax purposes (let us say 18% of $5000, something less than a grand). Also, with a transmission in it the thing would make a wonderful trade-in.
In any event fixing a relatively minor issue in any otherwise roadworthy car and then flipping it will always treat you better than just throwing the car away.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Honestly, I've been looking to get out of it for a while now, family and all. I bought the truck last night and didn't trade the CL in because i'm positive the tranny wouldn't have let me get there.
It's got 178k miles on it, not in the best shape - though probably average for a daily driver with that many miles and the motor is still really strong. I'm just over it, it was a lot of fun and a great car overall. I figured I could have sold in on CL for $3000 - $3500, taken probably $1500 on a trade if it ran but it's not worth $6K on a good day. I'll entertain offers, you do the leg work - PM me.
