Admissions of a retard...
I knew that would get someone's attention! LOL!
OK, I picked up new cabin air filters tonight and a new PCV value.
...where the heck is the thing?
I got the plastic cover (with the red vtec lettering on it) off but could not budge the other metal screws--which I presume hold down the remaining corners of the plastic engine cover. Do I have to have a rachet set to do this (on my b-day wish list)?
Your assistance in locating this thing is appreciated.

LOL! I have such an appreciation for those who can work on their own cars!
By the way...I seem to have failed on all counts. I went out to replace the cabin air filter and the pcv valve last night and couldn't get to either. I did however get all of the plastic in the engine nice and clean!
The pics and directions for getting to the cabin air filter don't seem to work for my car. My glove box only has 3 screws and on the left side I have a switch to control access to the trunk (I think thats for the valet key).
Interestingly, I noticed that someone (dealer service I guess) had gone in through the glove box before as the little control arm for the glove box was detatched and all three of the screws (2 at the top near the latch and one on the right) were basically just sitting there. When I removed the fuse cover panel ,too, I noticed that I only had 1 screw (directions show 2) and none were holding the plastic on. Interestingly, again, I noticed that another attachment point was loose (I think the dealer broke the piece of plastic that attached the dash down there to the metal). I was able to slide that back on but could not figure out how to get the glove box off.
Maybe the early 01's had a different set up??
Thanks all for letting me vent....
