Add another amp or sell mine and get a better one?
I've got a 500/1 right now, and I'm looking to upgrade to more powerful subs, which would require more power from the amp.
Would it be better to pick up another JL Audio 500/1 and connect the two together, or sell mine and get a 1000/1?
Or is it OK to hook up my current 500/1 to an amp of a different brand?

OK, more details here...
I'm running 2 10" Kenwood Tornadoes. They are rated at like 200 watts RMS or something like that.
I want to upgrade to JL Audio 12 W6v2's -- two of them. They are rated at 400 watts RMS. One 500/1 wouldn't cut it.
What if I got a 250/1 and hooked it up with the 500/1 for a total of 750 watts? That would be OK to power two 12" W6v2's right?

So are you saying that I could power two 12" W6v2's with one 500/1 amp?
JL Audio's web site says that the lowest wattage allowed for a 12" W6v2 is around 200-250 watts, and optimum range is 300-400 watts. If I'm running two, isn't one 500/1 cutting it too close??

Also, is it hard to build your own box? I'm looking at the recommended sealed enclosure specs and it says 18" x 16" x 14.125" (W x H x D) for one subwoofer.
Do I just make a box that is 36" x 16" x 14.125"?? Do I have to seperate the box in half inside the box?
