I have wanted to get the Wood/Leather steering wheel (burlwood color) for my CLS for a long time. I just can't see myself spending 350-400 for a new one. I just like the look of it and it would sort of complete the look of my interior...that's why I want it. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get one of these a good deal lower than the high dealer price?

I think its worth it....My dad has one in his TL-S....I would have one in my car, but they don't make one in Brushed Aluminum (or whatever the metal/plastic is supposed to look like). Its a much better, feel when driving. It makes the wheel feel more meaty.

How does fake wood plastic make the wheel feel 'more meaty? I like the stock leather wheel, fake wood is not very appealing to me.

Well, the Legend coupe I had before the CLS had real wood dash and trim.

I have the wood wheel in my car and I love it, it looks great and it feels even better.

Great looking steering wheel, but the ebay ad says not for use with "sport" model. I'm sure he means Type-S. Is this right?

Yes, Type S has perforated leather, the regular CL has non-perforated leather. Should work in either car, the leather just would not be an exact match.
