ACURA is telling people BS again
This comes from they Tpye S section over at www.acura.com
TYPE S ENGINE >
3.2CL Type S engine was tuned and modified until an extra 35 horsepower emerged from its aluminum block. The compression ratio was raised to 10.5:1. The redline was raised to a stratospheric 7,800 rpm. The fuel-cutoff point was raised to a breath shortening 7,600 rpm. And the threshold for VTEC™ activation was raised to 4,800 rpm.
The redline was raised to a stratospheric 7,800 rpm
Isn't redline 6.9k?
The fuel-cutoff point was raised to a breath shortening 7,600 rpm
Isn't the feul cutoff at 7.1k?
And the threshold for VTEC™ activation was raised to 4,800 rpm.
Isn't VTEC @ 5.6k?
Am I missing something why are these nubmers so different than my car's. Did the damn dealer rebadge a CL?
This is from around here somewhere http://www.acura.com/model_types/tec...ec_eng_frm.asp
Your have to Click on the first tile the one that has a CL rear pic and the Type S engine
Okay this is the first time I have caught such things but ...
Here are the numbers from the Specs section
Redline 6900 rpm
Fuel Cutoff 7000 rpm
so It can't be the next year modle what are they thing with the site desgin and the LIES

I wonder if you can write the webmaster or even call Acura (yeah right, like somewhwere there would seriously look into that question!) and ask about it.
It is very interesting though....
