Acura should switch from Bose to Monsoon

We bought a 2003 Jetta last night and it has the Monsoon system in it. It kicks Bose's ass! It has cool easter egg features like showing the strength of the FM signal, sensitivity adjustments for the speed/volume feature that raises the volume when you're driving and lowers it back down when you stop. Great bass & treble even with the controls set to flat....take that blowse!

monsoon has usually been the domestic car manufacturer's answer to bose. not bad, they go for lots of wattage. i think the mustang had an option for a 460w monsoon system. im happy with my bose though. im the only one that needs to hear my music, not people outside of my car.

The bose is NICE! I have no idea what people are complaining about for STOCK system. Chit, try spending a week in a 2002 Trailblazer. The WORST.

My friend's cousin has a Monsoon system in his 00' Camaro SS. I didn't think it was anything better than our stock Bose. Maybe the Monsoon had a bit more bass, but thats it.

I think the BOSE in the Acura blows away the stock Audi and Bose Audi system. I think the Acura Bose system is damn good for a stock system. What do you expect from an 8" open air sub. A better sub would do wonders. I think the mids and tweeters are pretty loud and clear. As far as VW is concerned, it's weird how the VW's get a better system than the Audis. Either way, Bose doesn't make the headunits, just he speakers in the Bose systems.

Bose in our cars isnt bad, but it sounds FLAT. I was looking for an equilizer when i first bought it. And it needs a bit more bass (and i dont even listen to ghetto music)

The CL doesn't have a sub, I wish it had the SUB that the TL has. Really can't figure out why they never included it

Bose in my 98 Max was the best I've ever heard stock.

WAAAAYYYY better than the Cl stock unit. It must've took a lot of money for Bose to put their name on that shiit.

what are you talking about? CL has a sub but it's an Open air speaker and the TL shares the same.

I don't know about that as I am leaning between the Harmon Kardon system in my recently sold BMW versus the ML in my in-laws SC430. To me the HK system had a better range than the ML system with more distinct highs and lows.

But in the end, both are better than the BOSE system which took a Pioneer amplifier to make acceptable sound to me.

Bose has been installed in Domestic vehicles since they were being used as an OEM. Mid '80's Corvettes and Cadillacs and even F-Bodies featured BOSE systems. Back in High School my friend had a new '87 Grand Am with a Bose system. It is the the imports who are new (relative) to using Bose systems.

i'm not sure what you are talking about. i know the tl has 4 speakers and sub between the rear speakers. the cl has only 6 speakers, the 2 tweeters, 2 doors, and 2 rears and nothing in the middle (where the sub is located on the tl).

I had a 03 tl loaner and the bass was better than on the cl, but not by much. i guess it's asking too much of a 25wx4 amp.

i think the reason most mid-level cars offer bose is because people who buy these cars are familiar with the name and not really the quality (or lack thereof). It's pretty decent for 90% of the people who buy these cars.

regardless of which is better (bose vs. monsoon), the monsoon system in the jetta sounds much better (my friend's girl has one) 'cuz it's like 300watts or something, as opposed to our weak-ass 100 peak watts or something lame like that.
