Acura service departments like to waste customers time and money to make their money
I have an issue with the door on the dvd unit in the trunk. the small pin that senses the door open is broken off. I have never opened the door since new.
I have aftermarket sound system that needs to be removed to r& r the disc changer.
The dealer claims the only thing they can do is swap the entire unit to match their warratny criteria. I dont want a reconditioned unit in there and the door snaps off the hinges in two seconds.
They would rather tie up the service bay, give me a rental and waste my time rather than swap the doors.
I called acura client services and was told this is a decision the dealer makes and they cannot enforce it.
The way it works is that they order one into parts, they create a work order exchange the unit with parts department and send the defective one back.
