Question Acura Extended Warranty, who bought it?

Whats up fellas,

How many of you's has bought the extended warranty coverage from Acura? If so what price range did you pay? Also where did you get the best prices?? I have been getting quotes for almost $2k. The new plan is 4 years or 48k miles from the milleage you have the time you bought the plan. So I am wainting until I hit at least 49k.

Any input would be great and yes I did search.

I've got 44K on my car, and it looks like curry wants $1,205.00 for Coverage through 2/26/2009 or 81000 miles ($100 deductable) now ....

Looks like I can't get a 7/year 100K thru curry anymore... I'll play the odds and hope nothing major goes wrong in the next 37K miles... If I could get a 7 year (from in service date) and 100K $0 ded. I'd consider that...

ktgumbo when did you get your extended warranty ?? How many miles were on your car ??

Nevermind... found your thread... Looks like the coverage and costs have changed...

Hey guys, I bought my warranty exactly one year ago. I had about 48k on the odometer and gives me peace of mind for the 3 years. I would take the quote you get and have your local dealer match it. I did this because I have some mods, and i hope that they will take hook it up if something goes wrong that is not normally covered.

I bought mine as an Acura Certified Used Car. I have some 100K powertrain warranty for free I think. I dunno. I guess I should look more into it to see exactly what I have.

I bought my 03 CL in October of 05, and normally NEVER buy extended warranties, but in this case I did. I paid $1200 for mine, not too bad.

I paid about $1200 for it last year. I figure even if I never used it, at least I would gain piece of mind from getting it. I've used twice for minor things.

Bought it...BUT...

I NEVER used it! So there went $900 down the drain.

But for being covered 7yrs/100k and not having to worry about other things, it was well well worth it.

And just to share...in almost five years that I've had my ABP, I have not done a SINGLE thing on it other than maintenance.

Florida buyers.....
The great state we are in regulates this. If you live in FL your stuck paying full retail for the Acura extended warranty. You cannot price match from Curry, & Curry or any other Acura dealer outside of FL will sell to you.
Last time I checked the 48K mile 4 year was $1850 if your over 40K miles.

I bought my from Curry just before my car turned 2 years old and I paid $800 for 7yr 75K mile / 0 deductable

The price is the same if you buy it at purchase or up to 2yr or 24K miles. After that point the price just keep shooting up. The longer you wait the more it costs and the shorter it protects the car.

I bought mine for the ACURA TLC so even if nothing breaks I still get to use the TLC. Also I went with the 75K instead of the 100K because the car is now 3yrs old and only has 23K miles on it

Acura CHANGED the warranty. That 7 year deal is no longer available. The 48K mile 4 year is the highest they go now, & the extended warranty starts from the date the factory warranty ends. So at 50K miles you get the 48K mile warranty, the warranty is now good till 98K miles or 4 years.

I did on the 99TL and it's more than paid for itself. Dealer doesn't nickle and dime me to death. He just takes care of it.

I got mine thrown in as part of the new car purchase. Also got a spoiler, and they gave me $1k off sticker (there was a factory to dealer incentive).

I have the 7yr/100k $0 deductible.
