Acura doing the right thing
I purchased a 2001 CL type S on the day I got it it was raining and wasn't able to check out the exterior as well as I would have liked. when it stopped raining I noticed what looked like water spots on the roof and hood ( the car is midnight ) I said to myself that I would be waxing the car in a day or so and they will come out with the waxing The water spots ended up being Acid Rain Divots on all of the horizontal surfaces of the car mind you the car is only 3-4 days in my ownership acid rain or enviromental damage is not covered by Acura's warrenty and I was told by ther distict service manager it was an issue I had to take up with the dealership after much discussion and a trip to NJ by another service manager they said they would paint the car for me This is not what I bought a new car with a macco paint job and told them I wanted a new car In the meantime the owner of the dealership had gotten involved and had pleaded my case to Acura Central and in 10 days or so I am going to have a new 2002 CL type S !!! Tax, Registration everything paid in full by Acura ( in Red the color I had wanted originally but had to take what was on the lot to get invoice for a price)
All I can say is What a car company

Glad to see you had a positive experience..... Sounds like your dealer didn't do a good job on the PDI. You were right to demand a NEW car. The pitty is that someone will now buy a painted 01 CLS

If mine goes, mine goes. I don't care either way... this is why we have warranties.

Soopa,
you are right, not everyone's tranny will go out at 13K, but the way this car was put together, LOTS of power-little bitty wimpy transmission, many (i'm talking near 10% of them) will go out before 30K. that is not what to expect on a $30K car, it's not fair to the consumer. i know you are a die hard CL fan but acura really shit on themselves here.

I dropped down to the bottom after the post went off topic so if I duplicate a respone, I'm sorry.
Did anyone else think that it was just a little too easy for this swap to have taken place? I'm not doubting the poster but what I am saying is that given how dealers seem to be scrapping about the brakes, etc., they must have known that the car's paint was screwed up when they sold it to you. Otherwise I think they would have been much more hesitant to give you a new car!
thoughts?

Sundance,
When I picked up the car the detailing guy came into the office and talked with my salesman. A few minutes later the sales manager came in and said there was a problem with the car, they brought me out to the shop and showed me that the back of the passengers seat was loose and said they wanted to keep the car until it was fixed I told them they could fix it at a later date.
After finding the paint problem I thought back to the detailing guy and wondered if he had seen the problem and that they pulled the seat back out to cover up the concerned look I had seen on the detailers face. Another thing is they delivered the car to me outside in a deluge when I could have gotten it in the shop.
