Acura corporate number? tranny failure part II
k, not me thankfully, but my friend at work, who has a '02 TL-S has already had his tranny repaired and replaced May 24th at Springfield Acura. On June 24th he brought it to Brunswick Acura cuz he noticed some fvcked up sound coming from the car everytime he'd accelerate, they said his tranny was leaking and they'd top it off just to hold him through until he brought it back to Springfield. The car is now at Springfield getting what i'm assuming the tranny replaced again. The car has only 7k miles on it, but the catch is, is that he didn't buy it at an Acura dealership, rather a car leasing company. What rights does he have as far as Acura warranty goes? would they replace the car even though it wasn't purchased at a dealer? and who would he talk to as far as complaining about Acura in general? He's disgusted at the way Acura has treated him and would probably never buy another one. Anyone know what he should do? What would Acura consider a lemon? Mind you, this is the second time within a month his tranny has failed. thanks.

If I'm not mistaken, it doesn't matter where he bought the car as long as it is under warranty. So he should still be able to go to an Acura dealer and whine to them like the best of us.

the warranty is on the car. it should be the same as buying new.
