Acura CL Type S Door Sills from Evolution Autodesign

Hi Everyone:

I was looking into ordering the door sills and was hoping to get some feedback before I made my decision.

Are they worth the $85? I am assuming this is for a pair right? How do you install them? Do they stay on and last?

Thanks!

They are worth the price.. but their service has been less then exceptional from what I've been reading. They are installed with adhesive tape and from what I've read, stay on no problems.

Good luck!!

I just got a set. My 2nd set too. I was in on the very first group buy on them last year. They have improved the tape. Now they stick alot better. They used to come with a wide long strip of tape, now they use several small pieces that fit the lines on the door sill better. They are worth it I guess. I'm not getting another set though if these go. I messed up the 1st set I got got. Turn around time is alot better too. I had my sill in 2 weeks.

yeah, right

although the time from ordering to deliver took a while...
jeff did come through and the door sills look great.
but i did not get the impression that jeff enjoyed taking our last group buy order.

over 30 people committed to the group buy...
yet, when the time came to send in the payments... less than half came through for jeff.

that was the case when i spoke to him. at the end, i'm not sure how many people actually went through with their commitment to buy.

bottom line is, many people talk when starting a group buy. then they flake out when the time came to pay. how nice is that? not only that, many people also became impatient when their orders weren't sent immediately.

anyway, just thought i'd bitch for jeff.

do you guys have his contact information?
here it is:

I got them last month and they look and fit great! If you've got a Type S, be sure to get the "S" in red.

Check my sig for pics.

I love mine too, I hope they don't fall off like what happend to some of the other members..

I for one didn't do anything special to install them.. I just used the tape they provided.. I often wondered if I would regret that..
We'll see..

These were bought in the original group buy

I'm trying to buy their Titanium trim but it has been an ordeal to even get a pic of the trim installed. I even offered to buy it and post pics myself and have never got a response from them.
Im a fan of Jeff's work but I can't speak kindly about the turnaround of their products. No disrespect intended but Im really not into getting things cheaply just to get them, I would rather buy full amount knowing what Im getting and getting it in less than a week. Seriously either they're making a fortune and don't need anymore customers or they are just missing the boat.

Sorry don't mean to insult anyone but I feel obligated to speak my mind.

Best of Luck

Lou

I have them and love them. But, in the freezing cold they didn't seem to stick as well as they could have. I got in the car one night and like a sh!thead my foot caught the edge of the sill and it bent up the front of the sill and ended up popping the whole thing off. I was able to "bend" it back in shape and stick it back down but I was ticked off. If it stuck better (it is stuck on with randomly placed 2 sided 3M tape) then this wouldn't have happened. Those of you at the last Saugus, MA mini-meet saw my sills and even after the "damage" they still look hot but I am just warning you that it isn't TOO hard to damage them. In their defence, after having them all winter long I have no scratched. Overall, I give them a

Yeah the last time i washed it some water got onto the door sills. No big deal I just wiped it off with a cloth and was careful not to scratch it. The edge closer to the door is really sharp so you have to be careful you don't get cut, but the sills themselves are doing just FINE.

I'm very pleased with my sills with the S. It took some e-mailing and calling back and forth with Jeff, but he eventually came through. I bought "blemished" sills for $50, and it's kinda hard to see the blemishes. People at the Saugus meet seemed to like them, too. I agree with blackmagiCL_S...
