wow thanx for all the positive feedback....i was a little worried people would think i had bastardized the cl motor...anywho..I'll post some pics of the engine bay and the fron of the car..enough so that you can see it is an accord...also for what it's werth i have my prototype clutch in this car..i'd tell you more about it but i understand that the power that be might get upset...so once I'm done with testing I'll find a way to advertise on the forum

That's pretty insane. How much would that motor conversion cost to do?

well in this case...the tally to date is right around 10k with labor....there's some rather significant differences between the autotrans motor and the manual trans motors and in this case the customer brought me th engine and trans...the engine was originally an auto which generated an extra $1500 in parts costs...i think he spent about 2k on the engine and then 1,800 for the trans...then there was teh subframe, engine mounts, ecu, wiring harness...blah blah blah..a ton of stuff...if he were to have started with a v6 accord it would have been a whole lot less expensive assuming he kept the stock engine and just changed the tranny like eric did...oh ya btw...i put a 6 speed cl tranny on a 6th gen accord about a year back....belonged to a friend named eric...had some fun with that one for sure....anywho next two project...involve a '98 prelude and something abotu another 6th gen accord with a cl-s motor, trans, and front end...if I can find a clip somewhere..but this time the accord is actually mine cl front end..just cuz I want to have some fun

... So it sounds like you'd be able to do a CL-S 6-speed tranny into a TL Type S huh? If you could put the 6-speed tranny from a CL-S 6spd into a Accord v6, it should be similar for the TL-S...

Where was that guy that said he wanted to do it? Here's your man

This is the best way to do it. Report on a successful swap AFTER its done.

Every other thread that does it in reverse always turns to

Can't wait to see some pics.

It was done once before, but that car has been parted out, so as of now, the car is one-of-a-kind.

i think you're refering to eric's car...but that car started as v6 car..this one started as a 4 cyl ulev monster...otherwise ya I prolly wouldn't make much mention of this one...as I'm the guy that did eric's a little more than a year ago....and I've seen other people do it as well since then...also seen the 3.5 with cl-s heads, i thought that was pretty sweet....but i had nothing to do with that...just saw pics...but like I said sweet

so did this "eric" fellow happen to have a J30 v6 or a J32?

If it was a J30 could you remember how much it cost for the tranny swap?

nice work btw. gotta see pics.

well it started as a j30...supercharged even...but that wasn't enough..he wanted more as for how much..well I haven't paid to advertise yet sooo I'll say the parts came out to about 3500 to use the stock cl ecu and that was with some "hook ups" on the parts..there's a bunch of sensors that need to be changed as well as some other perifferal stuff..and to be honest I still haven't sourced a "c" connector for the ecu...so yup each wire is individually pluged into the ecu.

Didn't "eric" recently sell his car? I thought I remember reading about a 6th gen accord 6-speed being sold. Didn't it have the CT SC also?
