Acura CL-S Exhaust Sound

Acura CL-S Exhaust Sound
I currently have a 2003 6sp Acura CL-S. Everything is stock on the car right now. I want to get a deeper and a little louder sound out of my exhaust system without spending a S*** load of $$$. I don't want it to sound like the cheap loud wining exhaust that sound like a moped is red-lining
Can anyone point me in the right direction or give me some suggestions??

cheapest.... removing the intake resonator and putting a piece of PVC piping in its place or something like that, it doesn't exactly alter exhaust sound but it sounds great when you're in higher RPMs. you can also remove the mid-muffler, you will need to get your exhaust connected together with straight piping though.
best option IMO is CT headers and/or exhaust.

'Big Daddy Diggler'
-Get 2 magnaflow mufflers
-remove the factory acura pre-muffler and resonator
-add in a 12 inch magnaflow resonator
-have a reputable shop weld an axle back setup and you resonator in place.
-enjoy your new sound and 2 extra horsepower.
and headers will make the exhaust sound louder. An intake compliments it nicely as well.

Uses turn signals in my
A nice intake also gives the car a meaner sound. I get compliments from others (including some V8 drivers) all the time about how nice my car sounds at WOT (comptech headers, stock everything else). I'll have to get a video of how it sounds one day.

bye Acura, hello Toyota
i guess it just depends on what exhaust you bought...i know there are several makers out there that make exceptional exhaust systems (Greddy, Comptech, HKS, Tanabe, Magnaflow, etc etc etc) and imho, they're not ricey at all...but then again, old adage "different strokes..." applies as well

^ haha its okay Batosai everyone is entitled to one free "senior moment" lol
intake resonator removal is a way to increase sound (sounds like an F1 race car when you hit VTEC) but it doesnt really change the way the exhaust sounds -> ergo it cant really make the exhaust "deeper"

INTAKE, INTAKE, INTAKE! One of the cheapest and easiest mods. It only gives you a couple more HP (more than exhaust for our cars imo) but you will notice much better response and it makes the car GROWWWWL through Vtec! It's a really deep tone too since its up with your engine. Gives the car a slight deep hum on idle too. I love my intake.
BTW, keep in mind, this is with a first gen 3.0. I can't immagine how sexy it would sound in a 3.2!

Cold Air Intakes work and sound just as good if you don't live in a flood or snow prone area. I live in San Antonio, Texas, the weather is as beautiful as it can be and I still chose an SRI over CAI. Looks better in the engine bay and sounds a bit louder.
Thanks bro, I try.

take out the intake resonator, take off exhaust resonator and replace with a 12" Magnaflow resonator. sound stock but a little bit louder. Magnaflow resonator is under $100 depending on where you get it and labour not too much either
