Actuator fixed = better mpg???
After getting my actuator fixed on Thursday, I filled up the tank. I enjoy the power so much again that I've been driving only in SS w/VSA off and I've already gone 100 miles and used less that a 1/4 tank of gas. Before I'd already be near 1/2 tank.
So tell me if this makes sense. Say the acutator isn't working, but the ECU knows it's past 3800rpm. More air supposed to be coming in so the ECU sends more fuel. I guess if this happened, you'd have a mixture too rich and would cause even worse performance and worse gas mileage. I also assume the actuator is "stand alone" from the ECU since it didn't send a code when it malfunctioned.

Oh...Behave!
Actually, the PCM DOES send a signal to the IMRC module, which then sends a signal to the actuator module.
I would think that the PCM was adjusting the air/fuel when the actuator didn't work, as I could feel a "struggling" of power - almost like the car was being choked of air and fuel. The poor mileage is due to the fact that the engine wasn't running at maximum efficiency (not enough air flow at WOT).
