Accord 6speed coupe on Car & Driver TV

They said it was OK..."it will win over a lot of minds if a only a few hearts". 0-60 7.0 sec
70-0 braking 209 feet that's a lot of feet!!

7 seconds? Isn't the CL-S-6 close to 6.0? I thought the Accord was close.

I thought they said the auto does 0-60 in 7.0, and said it was one full second quicker than last years model.

I just watched it

I generally don't lose any sleep over car and driver! here's an example of how "accurate" their times can be!:

12/02 issue of car and driver, ROAD TEST DIGEST: page 158: 2002 Ford mustang GT 5 speed:

0 to 60 6.3secs

1/4mile: 15.1secs

heh.. this is also the same mag that had originally tested the tl-s at 14.7 1/4 and then did another test and came out with 15.6... i think they drove a tl-p but never bothered checking the badge...

Did anyone find it funny how the announcer said the automatic did 0-60 in 7 seconds but the test car was a 6 speed (and you could clearly hear the driver manually shift it?) I went to go test drive one yesterday and they wouldn't let me. I have the episode on my Tivo, I'll try to post up the video clip.

SINCE were're mag racing:

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...rd/index1.html

actual issue= september 2002 motortrend. page 70, accord vs camry

2003 accord sedan EX V6

curb weight= 3,360lbs
0 to 60= 6.6secs
1/4mile= 14.98 @94.95mph

the coupe is even lighter than the sedan! also if you go by edmunds, time, then you mean to tell me you can chop .9seconds of a car's ET, just by adding a manual?

P/S: edmunds thinks the "almighty: CLS6spd everyone on here raves about does a 14.9 1/4, and the auto cls can't do better than a 15.0!

they are complete idiots! I hear they gave the new cobra a 7 out of 10 in "fun to drive factor"! Now how is a 12second 1/4miler a 7 out of then in fun to drive? maybe if your balls are wrinkled or something!

My big question:

2003 Accord get's everything new, including dual zone AC. My '03 pretty much just gets the 6 speed. Why didn't we get the dual zone AC?!?!

I also have the G35/Mustang/RX-8 video if somebody will host it. It's 10MB, 4 minutes Divx 5.02. I can break it up using WinRAR and e-mail to somebody willing to host it.

Nah, free imagestation accounts allow you almost zero bandwidth (sufficient for pictures only.) I have free space with my cable modem but only 200MB of bandwidth per month.

My wife and I were also watching this and saw that part where he f'd up the sedan/coupe thing. Those a$$wipes were very off base on this one.

BTW.. I thought the brakes were pretty good for stock.

I didn't realize that 60-0 in 130ft was considered "good brakes"...

Here's the best one yet on the Accord coupe. My new Autoweek dated March 3rd :

0-60 - 6.12 Yikes !! 6MT

Quarter - 14.73@ 96.2

Braking - 60-0 - 129 feet

They also said " The 5 speed transmission is the smoothest shifting automatic they have ever driven "
