99 Mustang GTs
The 99 Mustang GTs would whoop us to heck and back, right? I had a nast experience with one this morning... A Black converible (tan roof) one with a kid in it was in front of my on a two lane highway. He deceides to pass... He gets over, passes this Mercury Sable Wagon, and cuts it off right behind a tractor trailer, almost getting hit by someone in the opposite direction. I believe the car in the opposite lane was Dodge something... What is with these horse-a$$es? He must have excrement from the same animal that heap was named after for brains.
We were not racing... I was behind him. I caught up to him because if slower moving traffic.
But it makes me wonder... with that 4.6L V8... would he whoop a CL in a race? What about performance? I think we talked about the older GTs in another thread... I don't remember.

Well the 99 GT has 260hp, but remember that it's RWD, V8, and different gear ratios than the CL-S. If you would race a 99 GT Convertible with an automatic than the race would be pretty close, but if it was a stick or a hard top than forget about it. The 0-60 numbers for a 99 GT conv. auto, are pretty close to the CL-S, maybe a tenth of a second faster or so. Just don't race a stick or the hard-top auto.

Yep - I own a 2000 GT. Stock is around 14 seconds in the 1/4. I swapped out for 3.73's to get off the line a little better and had a best run of 13.92 so far!

Great game last night huh? I dread going to K-town.
I beat a 97 GT by a car & 1/2 to 70. But a '00 GT with 5-speed opened a can of Whoop-a#@ on me last week. I NEED HEADERS AND K&N!!!!!!

after my mods i raced a 2000 GT 5spd. he is one of my friends .. we raced alot .. and i always beat him by a car or two from 0-120 .. after that he surrendered. but he is planning of getting a saleeen supercharger .. at then i wont be racing him again lol. he will kick my A$$ unless comptech give us our supercharger to.

I let off about ~70 mph (55 zone), and he had pulled at least 2 cars on me. He was damn quick out of the hole. And I must say it's a sweet sounding car. I knew he'd get me, but I had to try it. If you're at 6.08, they run 5.5 stock. And they have a crap load of bolt-ons for the 4.6 now. I hear next year they are going to something like 290 hp on the GT.BTW are your best time SS or auto?
