99 CL 2.3 vs 9x Integra
First kill in my new car. This was actually the first time I ran the car hard. My car is still bone stock, but skills make a world of difference
Notes: I used to have a 94 GSR, beautiful car, but it didn't make any kind of power until 5,000. The CL has more torque and useable power.
I was on my way to my insurance company to get permanent insurance for my car at about 9am. Pull up to a light, minding my own business when a white, tricked out Integra flies up on my left. I look over and see stickers galore, Huge Wings West wing, 5" tip, and white 18" wheels. I started laughing while moving my foot to hold at about 3,200 rpm.
I left him by at least 2 out of the hole while modulating the clutch slightly. I was surprised how well my car launched. I powershifted 2nd and 3rd (even got a little chirp in 3rd) and shut down at about 90. He might have taken me top end, but at this point he was a good 5-6 behind me. He flew by and I slowed to the speed limit. I can't wait to get the basic performance mods and see this chump again.
Had to share my first kill. Any suggestions on parts combinations from other first gen 5 speeds would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks! Technically, I didn't power shift. That's shifting without using the clutch. I used to do it in my Integra, but not yet in this baby. You have to back off the throttle slightly and then engage the next gear with the engine rpm exactly at the right point. Supposedly if you power shift correctly, it does no damage to your trans. However, my synchros in the Integra were pretty shot after a while.
My fake power shift was simply holding down the gas for the duration of the run and tapping the clutch to disengage / engage gears. It's much harder to disengage a gear than it is to engage the next gear. I would suggest perfecting power shifting on a Mazda 626

For parts
Get an intake short ram or CAI, find a cheapy one off of ebay, then slap a k&n on to it.
lower you car too, countless combinations have been done.
exhaust, custom or pre made-its your choice.
headers+new cat.
Pulleys, AEM or Unothodox Racing.

Question about the pulleys:
First, I'm assuming they are underdrive pulleys. Do you have problems with your alternator putting out enough juice to drive your stereo? I also plan on putting in a decent system and don't want the dreaded dimming headlights. Also, you then have to get a special belt. Do you have any belt chucking problems? I had underdrive pulleys on my SB Chevy II and I would lose belts all the time. That REALLY sucks.
