99 3.0CL vs 84 Corvette

ok, so a buddy of mine just got an 84 'vette a few days ago , and we got a chance to race.

First race was off the line, we only went up to 40 or so MPH, but by then he already had like 2 carlengths on me. No surprise here, those V8's certainly have some low end tq.

second race: from a 50 roll, honked three times then took off. We were about even till about 75 or 80, but then I started slowly pulling on him. by the time we hit about 115 I had about 1.5 carlengths on him.

I was pretty happy that I kept up with him, let alone pulled on him up high like that, but I still gotta do some work on my low end (pully's, VAFC, nitrous )

yeah, but I wasn't surprised at all how hard he pulled on me off the line. Th4ere has to be somethignt hat'll get my low end better. I always get owned off the line, but catch up and pass the majority of people I race.

You pass the majority of the people you race in your '99 3.0CL? You should stop racing cars built in the 80's...
