90,000 service required
I called the dealer today and told them that my Maint reqd light was on. I know I needed an oil change. They asked how many miles (89,6XX) and told me to bring it in. They said we cant just do an oil change we will have to do all the recomended maint on the car. Starting with all fluid flushes (brake tranny oil...) to adjusting all belts and more stuff like that.
Then he told me it would cost $469 and take 1 day to do all the work.
Am I being taken for a ride? I did not get the original book with my car so I do not know what I need and do not need to do.

Tell them you don't want their silly glorified oil change. Do the 90K service and change all the fluids yourself and save the bucks. You could also find a privately owned shop to do it much cheaper.

ACURA recommend maintenance service schedule is here:
http://john-perry.com/acurazine/docu...aintenance.pdf
It's also available online at: https://www.ahm-ownerlink.com/
The stealerships are free to recommend anything that they want... BUT I've been following the factory recommendations.
When i had my car serviced last, they wanted to do a fuel system cleaning, air conditioning check/refill (or some stupid shit), and some other crap.... w/ those items it would have cost me over $500... but none of them were recommended by the factory...
I missed something, and they charged me for changing the pollen filters @45k miles, even tho ACURA only recommend doing them every 30K miles... I guess my dealership likes to do 'em every 15K miles 'cause it costs next to nothing (labor and parts wise)...
If they would have asked about flushing the brake fluid, I would have done that (it's recommended, and I'm at 3 1/2 years)...
I did my 30K service (same as the 90K) for under $100... which included changing the pollen filters... If I could have found the bosch filters that people have been talking about, it would have been even cheaper...
If you don't have the mechanical experience to DIY (do it yourself), most dealers will let you pick and choose what you want done... First Acura has it amost like a menu.... they have recommended services "plans", but you can pick an choose what you want them to do and what you want them to skip...

DIY what you can. and only let the stealership do what you cant. as said above most of the service is a visual check. oh, that looks fine, oh that looks like it is still working. but of course they dont even check the IMRC becuse most of em dont know what the hell it is. great
