7500 service at a Honda dealer?
Anyone have any reservations about this?
I'm due for my 7500 miles...i'm in Westminster, MD currently, and there's a honda dealer 1/2 mile down the street from me, and the closest acura dealer is close to 30 miles away.

i do not think u can service your acura at honda dealer because only some parts are interusable for honda and acura..u will still have to go to acura dealer for the service..the nearest acura from my home will be 90 miles....

well, my last honda i didn't go to the dealer at all, i went to midas for most of my oil changes.
i'm sure most of the parts i would need are standard parts (ie oil filter) and i can even have my oil changed at midas if i want...but i'm asking 'cuz i don't have my book and don't know what the 7500mile service consists of and if there are any checks that only acura could do.

Coming to a city near you
There are only 2-3 different variations of a Honda oil filter. You can use the same oil filter for the GSR that you could for the CRX. You can take you Acura to a honda shop but it depends on the shop itself. Some will do it, some won't. I tried to get my oil changed at an acura dealer when I had a Civic w/ITR motor. They wouldn't touch the car because it looked like a honda. But honda down the street did it no problem. And I had my cv boot replaced at an Acura dealer and they didn't have any problem at doing it. So it just depends on the dealer itself. We should be using the same oil filter as the accord, I'd imagine.

Also if you are getting your oil changed at Jiffy lube, midas, etc... you should buy a bunch of Honda Oil filters and bring them in with you. Quicklube shop oil filters are pretty crappy. I've read Honda does something special with their oil filters. I can't exaclty remember what though. I think it has something to do with cold starts. I think the filter has a built in reserve that supplies the engine faster with oil???
