6 speed header options

Besides CT. Anyone still make a 6 speed header version? I got a lead on a set but I have no idea who they are made by. They are not Comptech's.

Yeah I know get what you pay for & all that.....

Thought I'd try something alot less expensive the CT's that I did have before.

The only other company that made 6-speed headers was Stone Racing, but they only made a few. Plus, they're quality is very shoddy.

Stick with the CTs

It would take 8 of the headers I'm looking at to = the price of CT's. I just don't have the $$ & think it's a waste to shell out $1K for headers. I thought that before also. I only got them before cause I found a good deal used by pure luck.

So only stone racing had them?

Too many horror stories from people buying knocks-offs for me to ever consider it. I don't have the equipment or knowledge to do the work myself and I'm not rich enough to pay a shop to keep swapping out defective headers even if they are replaced under warranty. I'd rather spend my money once and get a quality product.

You can always go pay brandon a visit (during the night with a jack and tools)

but to elaborate on what Mclaren was saying. Stone racing was in the process of making some 6 MT headers, but then Nashua Night Hawk, the seemingly contact with the Co., left after a batch did not work out on someone's car, and I think the guy was out some money too.
Everyone was hype at the idea of a comptech like design for the 6 MT, but not the comptech like price.

I just read something about ssautochrome on the Ford Pinto yahoo group. They also supply headers for the Ford 2.3L turbo guys. The member who recommend them is (Bug), who opinion I respect.

If it were me (I'm I've been thinking about finally doing some mods), I'd go with the CT's

Yeah that was it. I called them & they said they are made by a 3rd party & are identical to CT's. They claim they fit as well, & they offer a warranty if they don't fit, or crack.
I know ssautochrome is a crap place to deal with, I know the stories. I'm not expecting things to be easy with them & these headers, so that takes some of the fustration out if things don't work out.
They were $154 shipped. I'll put them on myself so no labor costs. I had some extra $$ from a side job I did so if I get burnt then fine. I can live with it.

After weeks of waiting(no suprise there) I got these headers. Haven't installed them yet. Not for a few weeks I'll post another update on that. They don't look bad. The welds aren't as neat as CT, but I don't see them leaking (time will tell). The quailty while not CT, seem ok. They aren't flimsy things, the flanges are thick & beefy. Here are some pics:

But the headers look like they're decent. Not exactly CT quality, but still look good. Did you install them yet?

Do you expect to get the same gain result out of them as the CT's would produce? Isn't it like 30 whp?

You might want to install it asap since it only has 30 days warranty... good luck with it...

They have a 1 year warranty actually. What is started in that fine print in the auction is a standard thing. These headers are made by a different company called XS-Power, so they cover the warranty.

XS Power and SS Autochrome are the same company. If you do some searching on Honda forums you will find that their reputation is horrible.

They are the same company? really? They have different phone #'s & address's?
The people at XS-power I spoke too gave me the 1 year warranty in writing, so I guess I'm covered.

As I stated I had the $$ to waste on these they were cheap as hell. If I get screwed so be it. I know ssautochrome sucks ass, I know their rep. Get what you pay for & all that so I'm prepared.

Ok these are in. Did them tonight after work. Used a lift & air tools. Install was about 2 hours. EVERYTHING fit perfect. No problems. The 02 sensor didn't hit anything, didn't need to bend anything. At first I thought the A-pipe wasn't fitting but after tightening the bolts a little everything lined up fine. No leaks. Don't have any weird noises that I can tell. The A pipe also doesn't hang low. It tucks up like the stock piece.
The only thing now is how they hold up over time.
For gains... revs faster, pulls harder, butt dyno says an improvment, just about what I was expecting.
Should everyone go out & buy them? Are the ones I got a fluke that they fit fine? I don't know?
For now I'm happy with them.

What a great find. They do look good from your pics. Hey, if you go to moroso in the future, let me know, I'll meet you there. Good job with the headers!

so CT and these xspower headers are the only headers made for our 6 speeds? Also has anyone else used these on their 6 speed?

No problems. No resonance. Don't have any pics of them installed. They look just like any other header setup when on the car.

Nickname my long time friends gave me. Stemed from a REALLY bad haircut when I was younger. Just stuck with me. The 02cls part was actually cause when I first joined I had an 02 CLS & didn't intend to get rid of it. I asked a mod to change it but was told they couldn't.
