51,000 miles trip report....

Just had my ride inspected and the original factory rubber (Michelin Pilots) passed with flying colors. I'll probably get a new set at 56,000 or something. Despite what many say about the Pilots I love them!!!!! Maybe this is because they are the only tire I've ever known for the CL-S.

My rotors needed to be machined for $86 at the local Honda dealer. Acura wanted $130. Mechanic said my break pads were only 1/4 worn so does that mean mine are good for 150,000 miles? only kidding...

No other problems except broken windshield from a rock and a hit and run in Home Depot parking lot the first month I had my car (front right quarter and passenger door where they meet had to be fixed for $1,100.

I commuted from Portsmouth, NH to Boston (114 miles RT) from 9/1/2000 - 12/28/2001. Was out of work for first five months this year and now back in otherwise I'd probably have 60,000 on it. I travel highway at 85 mph with V1.

Bottom line....

"I LOVE MY CL-S!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Car is as strong as 25k if not a little bit better. I usually pull a hole shot out of the Hampton, NH toll both every day and it just goes and goes... I use sport shift about once a month.

Had a saab convert with blonde following me this week on Route 95 north at 85 so I floored it and was at 110 before I knew it and she was back there scratching her head. Brought it back to 85 very quickly though with holiday traffic coming on...
