4th Gear in the 6Speed feels funny.
Well, i've had my car for about 3 weeks now with roughly 1700 km/s on it, and i've noticed a few strange things.
1st, a lot of times when i'm in 4th or downshifting in 4th, the stick doesn't vibrate like it does in other gears, I feel this weird knocking vibration inside the shifter from the top of the knob but other gears it feels fine. The feeling isn't there when i'm accelerating on 4th, just when it's cruising (ie: no gas added). Does anyone have an idea or clue as to what i'm talking about or experienced it?
2nd. When i rev it in neutral, when the rpms drop you can hear this wierd sound from the engine, almost like something's wrong with the manifold? Does this sound familiar to anyone?
This is on a 2003 CL-s w/ 6mt.

Why is your hand on the gear shift when you are not shifting? Just curious.

I can hear stuff like this, but only in my garage with the hood open, and I'm really paying attention to the sounds. It cannot be heard under more normal conditions. I also have an Icebox.

No you don't have to strain to hear it. When it drops you can definately hear a different tone as the rpms drop. Sounds higher pitched and whiney. I asked a dude on the street that also has a 2001-02 CL-S and he said that definately doesn't sound right.
As for the 4th gear thing. I don't drive with my hand on the shifter unless i'm shifting, but when i first felt that weird knocking, that' when i would gently put my hand on it to see when it would happen, and it's only in 4th gear.

Hrmm really? That make me feel better. Can you describe the sound you're refering to? Perhaps that's exactly what i'm hearing, but i just want to be sure. If i don't need to take it to the dealer i'd rather not - it's such a hassle.
