38k KM Service - Synthetic or not?
Hello,
Just wondering whether or not i should start putting synthetic motor oil in my car starting with my next service which is in about another 1k KM's.
What brand synthetic would you recommend - i'm kinda new at this thing and also what "thickness?"
Would you notice a smoother feeling in revs and would i not need to replace the oil longer than if i went with regular non-synthetic oil?
Thanks

It should be fine. Go w/ Mobil 1. They're the easiest to find. Redline, Royal Purple and Amsoil are some other brand. Stay away from Castrol Syntec, not a true synthetic! 5w-30. Walmart or costco probabaly has the cheapest price.
Yes, you would notice smoother revving. You can really notice more in the winter during startup. I can go 7500 miles between oil change and the oil is not even black yet.
Just make sure you get a really good filter since you are running extended interval. NO FRAM!! K&N, purolator Pure One or K&N should be fine.
Since synthetic oil has a really good cleaning ability, you might want to do another oil change at a shorter interval to get rid of all the crud that the oil has flushed out.
