I also think these VS threads are whack cause everyone is getting things confused. Track is track street is street. You can not compare what 1 CLS does to 1 car it's racing when it's tracked prepped. You can't use slicks on the streets.
It's not a far comparison.
Get your car done race the Z street to street then post the results. I'll still say the Z will win.

I can barely outhustle a 6spd Altima Sedan (07) driven by someone of equal skill (though I havent tried since my recent upgrades). That VQ rendition is FF with 260 poniies.

Had an E36M3 come flying up on me in the fast lane today where I was cruising my 40 mile daily stretch of expressway at the normal 80mph. I started to get over to let him by when I saw him, but it wasn't quick enough and I heard him kick down to pass on the right. "Aw, hell no." I thought, and snicked it into fourth. I ran the open expressway up to 100 before I backed off, but he didnt clear the front bumper of my car. I dunno about running one from a dig, but it didnt have enough in the tank to overtake me at 80.

I would have just let him go. No need to be doing 100 on public roads. I run into that all the time. I'm already going 20 over & some asshat decides I'm too slow & passes me on the right. F them. Let them crash or get arrested for reckless driving.

Feeling froggy this morning or I would have done the same. Don't waste my time or roll the dice on buzzy cavaliers - just testing the throttle on a worthy adversary.

And a 350z should beat a CL either way and i wanna do the opposite.
Don't be mad cause I can have fun going in a straight line beating ppl.
Cl aint a track car, is a boat, and is automatic; so what am i supposed to do. Have a race backwards?

I'm not mad at you for having fun in racing in a straight line, I drag every once in a while....with a drag worthy car, although the statement "I guess you just have to make due with what you have" doesn't quite work. I want to be an astronaut, I'll guess I'll just have to build a ship out of this box I have.

Forgive me, not trying to sound like an ass (which I'm sure I am), I'm just trying to find the method to your madness. I would try to give some sound advice, but I'm trying not to have an aneurysm.
Good luck though, if you do decide to go through with it. Maybe race something else as a benchmark?

well heres what i say to everyone ... yep i didnt have the average CL S but i beat lots o cars back then... bolt on 350s no match M3 E46 no match... i got some video of 3 G eclipse V6 withcustom turbo and rousch III with upgrade pulley and bolt ons ...i beat vetts im talking LS2 and SS camaros ... street and track the place where most of these cars lost is from a dig LS2 are faster than i was from a roll but i got out like a bitch and busted many an 8s dream of rice pudding for desert ... count to 5 as fast as u possible can ... ok ... that probablly took .7 to .8 tenths of a second ... thats how much faster the above mentioned car may be than this guys CL ... you know how easy it is to F up just alittle and it adds up to you counting to 5 as fast as u possibly can ? back in the day everyone told me who i couldnt beat ... and i beat them all ... im not saying i never lost thats not the point ... im saying all the cars that are supposed to be faster than mine was ... flroida is different than penn. 13.30 here might be be a 12.9 at engilsh town ...u can dyno race and speculate all you want ... but put 2 guys behind the wheel one car can be a full second slower and still win 3 out of 5 ... thats my story and im sticking to it

I'm just talking about the scenario. The simple fact that I can beat that car and it being 07 is good enough to me. This car doesn't look fast nor do people give it credit and that allows people to underestimate you.
I like the 350z and it'd be jokes to beat a guy who you didn't know in the cl and he's thinking to himself wtf which is why I wanna beat it.

i beat 350z all day its the driver i dont care what the other person is pushing, i beat 350z all day g35 all day they're overrated. ill take one from a dig and ill take one rolling. if a 350z is beating you imo you cant drive because if you drop it into 4th rolling 80 then yea you cant drive it right. i drop it into 3rd going 80 and 2nd rolling 40 burning out.

well then i guess the CL is underrated... funny how that works.. Over-rated on paper due to the S.A.E crap and supposedly we don't have 260hp to start with, yet the CL can keep up with other cars that (on paper) should on be able to merk it

btw i put it into 3rd going 80 all the time and its still holding up and what my car has 167,000 miles and the tranny is still good. go ahead flame i got people on here that will vouch. oh btw i beat a 6speed cl-s with comptech headers and greddy exhaust with aem cold air by 3 cars tell me im wrong then.

i can say i beat g35 auto g35 6spd is like neck to neck. 350z is faster than g and its lighter and also it has 300hp+ engine in a 07 i belive so i think i dont have to say anything more. but thats still up to driver i know i drive stick good. but for 07 Z no way sorry guys even 6 speed lightly moded just no way.

I own a A/T 02 CL-S with mods in my sig. My dad owns a A/T 2005 Touring 350z(287hp version).
I've Raced the Z before....I can tell you the Z is the faster car. The cars are pretty even, but the Z is faster. The Z wins from a dig, wins from a 30 punch, and easily wins from a 70 punch on the highway. The only race I won was the 50mph punch and I was only like a half car ahead. I won a race from a dig with only me in the CL-S and two of my friends in the 350z weighing in at 575lbs together....not very fair considering I weigh 145lbs
O...I also raced an 05 or similar G35 from a 50-100mph roll and also only beat it by a half car and thats from our best scenario.
I don't think you stand a chance with an 07 350Z. Don't even think about a 370z...ever lol

tru well I plan on beating that 350z, n/a b4 he sells the thing cause he's a broke mothaaa. lol but he's asking too much$ so i'll have about a yr to get fully bolted, with ecu upgrade/tune...

Let me step in and add my 55 cent. You couldn't beat a A\T skyline 350 in a 1\4 mile run, even if you had a CLS-6. Look at the numbers and do your research be for you post something like this LOL....
