30000 mile CL-S service
Is this service worth the 400 bones they want for it?
Do I really need this? It didn't sound like they did much to warrant the cost.
Thanks

Most dealerships do charge around $350-400 for it.
Definetly NOT worth that much cos (if i remember correctly) it only includes oil change, tire rotation, tranny flush and couple of other minor things.

This is the break-down I got:
$115.00 - brake fluid change
$95.00 - transmission flush
$39.95 - oil change
$65.00 - AC filter change
"25 point inspection", "setting engine to factory specs", parking brake adj., belts adj, tire rot -- $180 (haha)
Any other things I need to get done that I'm missing? Isn't $115 ridiculous for just a brake fluid change?
The person that got charged $140 -- what did that include?

Btw, I'm trying to do the service soon, so any suggestions for how to approach them would be appreciated . I'm in Mountain View, CA -- Stevens Creek Acura said it would be $495 for everything, parts and labor -- totally fucking ridiculous.
For peeps in the Bay Area, where'd you have your 30k done on the CL-S, what'd you do, and how much did you pay?
I spoke to this advisor named "Susie" at Stevens Creek, and she was a total bitch, and got all pushy and angry when I said I didn't want to pay the full $495, and to itemize the charges... Said my warranty would be disqualified if I didn't pay the full $500, among other things....

for my 45000 mile service I asked a similar question and I found out that a piece of mind is definitely worth it. I got my tranny flushed and the brakes bled, they checked for anything that might be wrong with the car before the warranty runs out and they even did a complimentary brake job...resurfaced all rotors and changed all 4 brake pads...I liked that. I skipped the oil change because you can do one yourself for 10-15 bucks and they will charge you 50. But the rest is important. The tranny you can get flushed somewhere else but you need to use the honda fluid or else...everyone will tell you that. anyway, what i meant to say is that you have a nice car so keep it that way.

Because I do the air filter, oil and oil filter and AC filter myself and I have Discount Tire do tire rotation for me for free, I would ask the dealer to do the break fluid and the tranny fluid. I wonder how much that would have been.
By the way, I did the same for the RX. The AC filter on that thing was $50! And it's the thinest filter you have ever seen. You wonder how it filters anything, though when I took the old one out, there was 3 times more dirt than on the dirtiest engine air filter I have ever seen.

Try Acura of Pleasanton. I bought my CLs there a month and half ago. They bent over backwards to show me what I really call customer care. I can't vouch for their service yet, but if it holds as well as their parts line did onthe phone and the front end people, you'll do better there than Stevens Creek. IMO, Stevens Creek Acura is a bit too arrogant.

I went to Los Gatos Acura for my 30K service and cost me $380 and change. They also resurfaced my front rotors and new brake pads. Also got a new front passenger seatback b/c of a slight tear. All under warranty. They provided me with excellent service.

c-mon do the 30k service yourself and save 400-500 bucks. changing out the transmission fluid is easier than changer your engine oil. just keep the receips of the t-fluid that you buy from a honda/acura dealer for your warranty needs. ac filter chnage, that may have more steps, but there is a step by step instruction on this forum somewhere? brake fluid change? it should cost around 60 bucks from any autoshop. just remember to keep your receipts of all the work you have done to your car.
