3.0CL (I/H) vs 98 GSR(I/H/E)

So last night I was cruising around late at night and a white teg passes me. I thought nothing of it, then saw that he had an aftermarket exhaust. The fact that I saw it and didn't hear it from him cruising I liked already. So he dicides to turn left I follow him in the other turn lane and light turns green adn he goes, but kinda revs high to whre I can hear his exhaust. I go WOT for a second so he can hear my intake, and let off for a second so it's an even start, we both go WOT and it's on.

It was about the same the whole time. I just barely was pulling on him all the way up to 70 (was 40 mph zone, didn't want to risk it). We shut it down, and for the first time the guy I just raced rolled down his window and we chatted. He was pretty impressed that I kept up with my car, apparently he had some engine work and tuning in addition to bolt ons. I told him it was a 6, but an auto, and that it's almost 1000 lbs more than his car.

overall fun experience. Not like the typical ricers around here. I've finally been running into some nice racers, and ones that aren't completely psycho and will not race if there is traffic around.

hmmm, I would have thought that my 6 would have more of an advantage at higher speeds than his i4 since it wasn't turbo'd or anything.

I think he said he had a B18c in there, so whatever engine that is + I/H/E .

he definitely had a slight advantage from 0-30 when we went from a stop, but after that I SLOOOOOOOOWLY started reeling him in.

A B18C is the stock engine in the GSR.

B18B = 142hp Integra LS/GS/etc
B18C = 170hp Integra GSR
B18C5 = 195hp Integra Type R

Hate to say it but a GSR would take your CL easy with those kind of mods. But all and all at least you had fun.

hmm, so guess my car isn't a factory freak after all. Well I'll be getting my cams in soon, and we'll see what I can do after I install em with exhasut and pullies.

Correction
B18 c1 is USDM GS-R engine
B18c is the JDM GS-R Engine

I have a B18C3 which is a mixture of the two. B18c bottom end (10:6:1 CR), and B18C1 top end (cams and what not). It's a crate motor from Honda Motors.

With just an AEM CAI and shitty launch My personal best 1/4 was 15.2/94mph

hmm, well my only time at the track, my best time was 16.808 @ 82.3 mph, but I'm in denver at bandimeir, so 5800 ft above sea level, so with the correction factors (http://www.nhra.com/tech_specs/altitude.html) my sea level time would be 15.59@88 mph, and being that our times woudl be about the same, and that our race was above my 500-3000 rpm weak point (which kills my times) I think this numerically seems fair.

You said he had a B18c, and if that is true, thats the full on JDM GS-R motor, rated at 180 HP vs. the US B18c1 rated at 170 HP.

Stock GSR = ~2550 lbs. (with me in the car was 2700)
Not sure how much the first gen's weigh.

Just saying if he truly has the B18c motor with bolt ons, he should have been walking you, possible he wasn't going all the way to redline or was doing some shity shifting.

He didn't seem like a guy that knew the specifics of his motor (ie. the variations of the b18c motor), so it more than likely was just the stock gsr motor with bolt ons. He was definitely taking it completely to redline, I love the sound of those cars when they do .
