? for 2nd generation CL owners....

I was loading in some CD's today (4 of 6) and thought it was weird that no sound was coming out of it. So I tried every CD # and each one wouldnt play. Turned it over to AM/FM/TAPE and all 3 of those worked fine. I then tried to eject the CD's but all it does is make the sound like its trying to eject but nothing happens. I do get the Err R1 message but it wont eject. Has this happened to anyone?

I have read threads about this before, and the culprit might have been some type of burnt CD, whether it was the file or the disc I don't remember, if either. You may be able to trick the CD player into spitting them out by: leaving it on the CD option, tunr the power off (push button in), turn it back on and in the same second hit the eject button too. I know this little trick worked when an aftermarket deck I had in a previous car, didn't like certain CD's and therefore would not spit them out.

The main cause has been burnt cd's w/ labels on them. But I don't put labels on my burnt cd's and this happens to me.

I have tried everything and only 1 thing has worked 3 times for me. Not saying it will work for you but it's worth a shot. Before you shut off your car make sure to turn the radio/cd off. Then the next time you go to turn the car on let it sit for about 3 minutes turned off. You should hear some sort of churning from inside the cd player. After a few minutes give it a shot. Let me know if it works for you...?

Take it to the dealer for a radio replacement. If you can eject the CD.
