anyone who keeps saying "oh its just a POS neon" is just purely ignorant and closed-minded. those articles clearly show the level of detail and engineering that went into the SRT-4. there is simply NO BETTER car for the price. period. all of the import loving-domestic hating idiots are just salty because their hopped up import is not going to beat an even STOCK SRT-4. start modding the SRT-4, forget about it. youd have to come real big in order to mess with a modded, well-driven SRT-4. if i had the cash, id love to have one of these little rockets parked next to my other dodge, the truck. go ahead, keep saying "oh its just a neon, blah blah blah" keep saying that while it spanks your ass all over the track, proves its worthiness at autocross, maintains its reliability over the years and miles. what will you say then? neon or no neon, this car is to be respected and not fucked with unless you have something MAJOR going on under your hood...

i dont care what you say, dodge products are sub par, and basically inferior. It might be fast, but, let me know how many times you take it service in the first year for a check engine light.

did you not read the articles on the engine and drivetrain??? you must be kidding. did you not see and read how well these drivetrains are built? weve got CL-S all over with trannys blowing up like bombs over bagdad, M3 motors blowing up, audi with continual electrical problems, reports of G35s with clutch problems/tranny problems. and many more problems with "higher end" cars that are all too frequent. why do you give them a pass? why not bitch about how alot of luxury cars have problems that occur in multiple units in the same fashion? you think any car is going to be perfect? no. just wait. keep watching, keep expecting to see SRT-4's lined up at dodge service departments....youll be eating your words after that year is up that you are speaking about.

I agree it is a bad ass car, that has a very high level of engineering put into it.....I just wish they would make a AWD or RWD version.....It could really be a monster of a car then..

Although it is evident that you take this matter a little..."too personally", I cant but agree with you, especially with the first part of your paragraph. This car has been taken seriously by the designers and I it's even more impressive when we consider the financial situation that Chrysler finds itself currently. It's not easy to focus on a project and dedicate yourself to it, the way these engineers/designers have. What makes me even happier is when I think about what else is coming from Chrysler in the...."Neon department" for future generations.

Cant argue with that though...make it a little more acurate and say..."best bang for the buck for performance hands down, in the pocket rocket category".

Obviously there's no doubt that you'd be hard pressed to find another car that offered the same amount of performance for $20K. But what about long term reliability? Will one of these beasts ever see 100K?

Did you not read the article?

The more I look at this car, the more I sorta want one. The inside is and it's still a Neon...but I'm a big Mopar fan...it's good to see them really back in the game. They can seed me my free 528 crate motor anytime now too.

Does this car come with all the luxury or safety items?

ie. heated/motorized leather seats, multi-disc cd player, steering wheel-mounted stereo controls, HID lights, side airbags, etc.

I dont care that much about all those options... I sold my CL-S with all these options for a LS1 Camaro with nothing compared to the CL-S in options. Just a Strong motor that has potential, and a strong gear box (T56) which are the two major foundations to start modding LOL. So not all people are looking for all the comfort options. I used to have it all and wanted something rough and could handle modding.

You guys should stop telling your personal feelings and ideas, and just fuckin' agree that the SRT4 is the best bang for the buck in the small sporty sedan category as gavriil stated.

Reliabillity issues will need to be clarified by the SRT4 owners and JD Powers. For now I can tell that that Dodge is near Mercedes and Audi on realiability as specifies the chart i posted some time ago.

And who said that the SRT-4 is POS, look the chart first and see who are more POS.

That car is HOT with no excuses !!!

It reminds me of a “cheap shit” Dodge that I used to own.
It was cheap, loud, interior squeaked, and got no respect at first glance.
But it Goes Like Hell !!!!!

But I regularly beat Mustangs, Camaros & even caught a few old Corvettes off guard.
I got into a LOT of trouble with this car back in the late 80’s.
