Watched the vid, first thing I noticed is how skinny the stock wheels/tires are.
Then again, I think the tires I have on now are too skinny.

how the heLL did this car plummet in the Market is Acura's biggest mystery.
I'd be so mad if I was the maker of the car, only to see shittier cars take the cake.
so fucked

Figure in the rate of inflation and our cars in 2001 cost $37,311.91 in todays dollars. That's a hard sell for sure in addition to a number of factors that held it back (wrong wheel drive for starters). 2 doors never sell all that well when there's a 4 door option like the TL available. Further limiting you throw in the ability to put only 2 people in the backseat things keep getting less appealing. Sure we love them since we're owners but when you're at the dealer and you're comparing options, these things make the CL a lot less appealing then other cars on the market at the time.

um the car was almost $50000 CAD when it came out here type S, brand new loaded
and it still was a CHEAP car for what u got.
OBV u aint driving a benz or Bimmer, but if you could get ur mind around that concept and actually appreciate the car for what it is and offers... (kinda like that movie at the top) it becomes apparent the CL was a steal for its time.
Just think the G35 came out specifically to compete with Acura and there TL/CL.
Yes Infinity was smart and made it RWD for the coupe, but still it's way more coin, and parts are rapeSHO expensive.

Remember, Acura is still not a premium brand. Yes, the cars are a good value, but when you're looking at this segment, you have to remember many people look for brand recognition.
Acura doesn't have that identity, and they've been searching for it for some time now.

I will KEEP SAYING THIS... I AM FROM TORONTO, CANADA
the land of overpriced cars..
and over here Acura HAS established themselves as a premium brand. People always choose acura's over BMW and Benz now cause they are just better for the $.
Remember here in canada we are super multicultural, so people have no pre-existing bias as to what is a good car. They have to find out for themselves.
And when it comes to trail and error methods, that's where Acura will prevail.
I got to the US every now and then and Jap cars are far from common.
I invite any of you to come across the border and tell me I am wrong when I say, the GTA is flooded with JAP cars. flooded

i remember the dealership closest to me had a few CL's left over in 2004 (all auto's) and they couldn't get rid of them. last price i remember seeing was $33k CAD for the '03 type S 5AT brand new and still the salesman told me that it seemed like they couldn't sell it

All of North America is multicultural....it was populated by immigrants. Canada is no more multicultural than the US. How does multiculturalism effect people's views of cars? Everyone around the world knows about car brands.
And i agree that hopefully people realize that Honda/Acura are more reliable (in general) than many BMWs.

multiculturalism effects people's views on everything! because everyone is bias to some degree whether it be because of ur background, ur beliefs, ur experiences. All that translates into a pre-existing notion of what something is, before you explore it. It's human nature to "know" as much as we can without actually knowing a damn thing. the reason why I generalize and say multiculturalism is because the diversity of people is what creates these experiences and beliefs.
Which will allow one's mind to justify going against the grain and buying a car that's not a bimmer or benz or lexus or infinity.
Cause really ur paying for the name, and the parts, which are a rip off if u ask me.
Take america for instance, very patriotic nation, ford was the first auto manufacturer so naturally an american would LIKE to buy a car made in their country.. therefore there is a subliminal bias.
Look at the % of gross sales for american based auto industries, it's mostly america. So if u put 2 and 2 together you'd conclude people like supporting their own companie's for whatever reason you can blame.
With multiculturalism, differences are present everywhere therefore there is no real general bias. which means people are more open minded and are up for exploration.
It makes sense if you stop and think about it really
This is my belief as to why acura and (honda especially) is BOOMING in the GTA. and canada
like,.... their dlr's are flooded with people and every other dlr has like 3 shoppers at a time in it. I have been shopping for a car for my mom for a week so I can tell you that I am not even exagerating.
Oh and she's getting the 07 Accord w/navi tonight!! I'm gald she finally has a car she loves again.... like the CL-P before my brother t-boned some dumbass who thought he was stopping for a yellow, whata fool

I hear ya...just didn't really understand what you were getting at the first time.
I also think that people here in the GTA are extremely cheap, thus the want for a more reliable car...lol. I see so many early 90s accords and civics around still...and all have fart-can mufflers.
Me and the wifey are looking for a car as we speak. We need a future family hauler. I like the new CR-V but they're everywhere. The new model Forester is looking good.

yea subaru is a goood car as long as you don't mind sacrificing a little interior elegance for driving performance. they are probably the best performing cars on a slalom for what they are. which is a good thing if ur thinking about safety.. and it'll b 4wd which is a life saver.
