Ive had my 2002 CL-S for 2 weeks now and after about 10 days i started hearing a rattle from the back corner, like under the passenger rear speaker or something, then the next day i heard a rattle in front of the passenger door, under the dash or something....and its getting worse!! WHAT THE F***????? i love this car and am very pleased with it except all this rattling is total bullshit if you ask me....its totally inexcusable for a car like this...especially after only 2 WEEKS???!! anyone have a similar experience?? anyone have any solutions??? i cant pinpoint the rattles' location but all i know is that its really pissing me off...at this rate the car will fall apart in a month!! will the dealer fix this crap for me??

I hear you dude, I like the speed and interior, but the rattles and squeeks are straight annoying. whats worse is that the service dept looks at like your whining when you bring it to their attention. my car sounds like a bag full of mice and tin cans when its real cold out. But every car has their share of problems so just weigh the good and the bad.

I had a real nasty rattle in the rear a few weeks ago. It sounded like two pieces of styrofoam rubbing together. It was audible even when the radio was turned up.

I jumped in the back seat and started pushing and poking everywhere. Now it's gone. There is a slight noise coming from the back, and that seems to be common on every CL-S. I guess some have taken it their car in, and some deal with it.

I may have the dealer look into it when I take my car in for its first oil change.

Mine too! My car will be 1 year old on the 28th. I have not had ONE problem with squeaks, rattles, tranmission, chipping etc. I have about 12,800 miles on it. WHERE do you people drive?

I know that you can get a bad car because my previous 99 Chrysler 300M, "Motor Trend Car of the Year" was a nightmare! Actually, the dealers were a BIGGER nightmare than the car itself, but $3,300 worth of warranty work in 33 months doesn't spell "QUALITY" to me!

My CL-S is the BEST car I have ever owned! I would get another one in a heartbeat!

My '01 CL-S has faired pretty well except for the sunroof which rattles terribly whenever the sunshade is open.

I have also had mine for 3 weeks now, and I have 0 rattles. Solid as it can be! I have 1300 miles so far!

we all know about the rattling - dealers do too..
the sunroof (which definitely does NOT sound like its coming FROM the sunroof) is the biggest/most common culprit..
they will fix it (and check any other) immediately..
my mothers TL had the sunroof thing, so thats how i remembered when mine started up too..
i had the dealer actually take off the door panels, and rear interior side panels and check that all was tight and tidy..
the sunroof one (shut the sunshade til u get it fixed) helped a lot, but i think we hear these lil noises because the CAR itself is so hushed and smooth that they stand out, AND we're die-hards who want everything perfect..i feel ya..

I'm with Driven ... the only thing that rattles in my 02 CLS in the sunroof shade. Other than that, it's all good.

On wednesday the dealer fixed the rattles.. On Saturday the same damn rattles showed up again

I have a love hate relationship with my '01 CL-S. On a cold day I get in it and it rattles like a tambourine over every bump; that's when I hate it and start fondly reminiscing about the relative silence of my '90 Pathfinder and '92 Geo Storm! Then I get in my CL on a warm day and floor the gas pedal and I love it again.

my 2002 had a rattle from the rear seats for the first few weeks, then i decided to take the seats out and put it back in, now theres no sound at all. Well other than the wind noise, i am really disappointed at the wind noise, i had a camry before this and it was super quiet, i also have an rx300 right now and thats quiet also. This car gets so loud when u r over 60mph, i tried closeing the sunroof cover thingy and it helps a little but not much.

I went to the dealer today and they have a fix for it.

I've had my Cl-s for about 3 and a half months now, and the car rattled one day, annoyed the shit outta me, it came from the cupholder, thats when I realized it was my travel size cologne, not sure if you're experiencing car problems, or just something you put in your car thats annoying you, take a look...

I have a 2001 and the only time the interior starts squeaking and rattling is when the outside temp drops below 35 degrees.. Other than that my car is quieter than a monastary..

Exactly, only I dont reminisce about the pathfinder or the storm :P but rather think about the fact that my friends 528s are quiet and solid with many more miles on their cars.
