2000+ Manual Stang GT vs. Auto SC CL-S

Coming home from my friend's house last night and taking it easy on my way to the highway. Going from light to light w/ this red GT stang and his loud exhaust a few cars up. He kept holding his lower gears so I knew he was a manual. Traffic cleared as we got to the 270 degree highway entrance ramp. He took the inside single passenger lane and I thought I'd creep past him in the HOV lane since I had a passenger. About 3 cars behind him I see and hear him downshift and WOT it. I could hear his tires losing traction a bit around the corner. I paced him as my Spec-2's kept grip quite well. BTW, love the V8 sound. Anyway, I floor it as well and that oh-so-sweet whine starts getting louder under the hood. We finished the turn quickly and hit the one lane straight-away to the highway. I kid you not that I had to let off the gas at least 3 times before we got onto the highway or I would have been all up in his ass! We slowed down and didn't race on the highway because there were other cars around. I think he realized I was faster even though we technically never got to race side-by-side. He gave me a big hang-loose sign and I gave him a thumbs up. Young guy, cool that he didn't flip me off like most others around here.

Too bad you couldn't catch a light together.

Nice run either way.

It has reinvigorated my love for this car. I was getting bored with her but now I think I'll keep her for quite awhile longer. I have a feeling that I'm going to get a ticket soon though. That'll lighten my foot a bit.

was it on the everett exit? the on-ramp to south bound? 164th st exit? i'm guessing thats where...cuz there is a 270 degree, then at the end is a pretty long straight road

It was the on-ramp to south bound 405...not sure of the exit number. Traveling west, you go over the overpass and make a right turn into the 270 degree turn then loop around south 405. My friends live in the Mill Creek area and we were heading home to Bellevue.

Good Kill -- It is nice that guy was not a dick after being bested.

That SC is really making the difference on these cars, then again, a SC makes a difference on most applications... not that i know =)

Keep surprising people, I love it!
