2 quick runs with g35C

I was so freaking excitied racing this guy. I had my g/f in the car, he was by himself. Black G35c goes by and I am telling my g/f how much I like the car and just checking it out. We are pretty much side by side and out of the blue he nails it. I was hoping he would want to play but I wasn't ready yet. I jump on it right after him but he is pulling away from me slightly-I figure because he got the jump on me. We are in and out of traffic for a bit then-perfect we catch a red light. He looks over gives me the thumbs up, I smile and just watch the light. VSA off, Gate shift to 1. Green light I am so excited I nail the gas right away and spin just a little too much but not bad. He has me by 1/2 car to about 30mph. After that I didn't check speed but I evened it up by the end of 2nd, ran out of road and had to slow down for traffic somewhere in middle of 3rd gear and had about 1/2 car on him. This race was sooo close. I have respect for that car. I am pretty sure he was an auto or else he shifted pretty smooth-couldn't see much shifting action. He may have been 6spd the way he got off the line. Anyway he looked over shook his head kind of looked down in disbelief but gave me the thumbs up at the same time, I did the same then about 1/4 mile up he turned off. If I could have launched better might have stayed ahead of him the whole time.

Results sound about right considering your mods.

Nice run!

Nice run!! I think with your mods, you would have done okay against the 6 speeds even, since its only a stop light race.

Not necessarily with all the mods on the CLS. Doesn't sound like the guy launched it hard if it was a 6-speed.

No doubt... I hear that.... She got so upset once she made me pull over and let her out...... after all the drama, it ended with her crying in my arms and telling me that I scared her....

LOL..... I need a gear head girlfriend....

Nice Flint, and I know those BR5 looked bitchin while rolling out.

This guy was bone stock, I pulled on him and you see my 1/4 time in my signature. So not all G35C run that time. Maybe all 6spd do and I admit I have no idea if the one i raced was 6spd or auto. He even had me off the line and I caught him. The cars are very fast and I really like them but they are not always untouchable by the CLS (when modded of course).

For the most part, yeah. Those times are normal for average G35 drivers...

Modded, look for mid 13's...

Not according to some of these threads:

link#1

I looked at a few more and most were in the mid 14s and rarely were any stock ones above 99mph. Most were in the 96-99 range (quite a few in the 98 range stock).

I agree but apparently a lot of people don't understand the meaning of variability or the thought that some people actually suck at driving no matter what car they drive!

What a ridiculous comment. I've yet to see anytimes in the 13's for the G.

Almost all the G35's I've seen run were 14.1-14.3, and I've seen my boy Mike go 13.92 in his, stock...
