1st Time at the Track.. timeslips... (Chicago) US 41 in IN...FUN!

Well this morning I headed down the track with Scrib...

It was a great time $20 for unlimited runs!

Here's Scrib's summary thread: Scrib's Thread
sorry I didn't post sooner, but to had make mine official, with the times slips and all....

He summarized pretty well... weather sucked... cold, wet, & windy. The track was VERY damp & slick, tire spin like Crazy!!

Humidity was 80%+, about 45 degrees..

Here's some slips.... please comment on everything, as I have never done this before!!

I was car # TO10 and Scrib was # TO9 (we had several h2h runs)

Here was my first run EVER: (thankfully by myself )

Here was my Best 1/4 ET (also best 60ft time):

Here was our closest Head to Head Run

Here was my Best Trap MPH:

CONCLUSION: My R/T's suck, but NOT AS BAD AS MY POS BALD STOCK TIRES!!!!! My 60 ft's are terrible!!!

Still had a great time!

If it was 80 degees and sunny, i think the 60fts would have been light-years better. But the over all times probably would have been worse... Shit, if the sun was out and it was only 50, we still would have been much better off. It just wasn't the day for good launches.

EDIT: Took the image out.

Oh yeah... all my runs were with VSA Off and Gate Shifting, no brake torquing at the line...

Is this the best way to run?? Any suggestions/comments?

I did not do any race prep. (remove spare or jack, or anything like that).

BTW pull T...note there 9.7 1/8th ...compared to my 9.433 you calc'd to be a 14.8 i say more like 14.3

Are you saying that 225/45 will run quicker times than 235/45 ???

will the affect the accuracy of the Speedo?

thanks...

Damn.. 14.3s, 14.5s... That's REALLY good. What type of mods do you have???

Those 60ft times are 4-tenths faster than mine... DAMN!!!

headers, cai, SSR comp rims and Toyo T1S Proxies. I had a bunch of wheel hop or those times would have been even better.

So basically, it looks like Tires + Headers should take off .5-.7 off the 1/4 time and add ~5 mph trap speed...
