17's vs 18's
okay here's the deal i'm debateing over OEM size rims when i get my type S.(which i think will be 17s) or go to 18s
now i know you guys say 18s look wicked but here's the think I know with potholes big rims are bad. but with a 1 inch increase in a rim does this affect it much?
#2 does toyo make a tire that will fit a 18?
#3 do i have to reset the speedometer cause my dad said i would have to. but as long as i stay close to stock tire size i don't think i would have to cause all your taking away is rubber not size of the tire. now here's another question. Okay if i have my 18s for summer and 17 stocks for winter/early spring i doubt if it would affect the warrenty but dad said it could.
i know i'm not going 19s cause tires are expensive enough with 18s and plus hitting potholes.

yah... you have to watch out for those potholes... but at least you're using a 40 series tire with 18's and not a 35 or even a 30 series tire with 19's. IMO, 18's are not that bad and you don't have to worry much. about the speedometer... i don't know how you would go about "reseting" it because i don't believe it's possible. the speedometer is only off by 1.4% so it's not that bad. i would say go with some 18's... your car will look much better and sportier. but of course, my opinion is very biased... but it's ok

thanks for the info. so your saying the car will only be off maybe 1-2 mph from what the speedo says.
BTW Chris I know we're in 2nd Gen CLs but the Gen 3 CL comes out as 04 or 05 someone said. the reason I'm waiting is #1 I think the 3.5 will be in it #2 Money(save enough for a good down payment plus a little something for mods)
#3 I think they'll have most of the little bugs out of the Gen 3s compared to Gen 2s
I'm not knocking Gen 2s(there great cars but i'd perfer to wait)
