1/4 mile times
went to rockingham strip tonight, it was dead so i got 10 runs in about an hour. temp was 50.
best time was 14.544 @96.58... best part about that was i was against a GTP and he ran a 15.46 @ 87.99.
60ft time on the 14.5 run was 2.312
1/8 9.438@76.79.
no spare tire and very low on gas. tire pressure just under 30. I didn't have a pressure gauge, so i let what i thought was a bunch of air out. Check it when i went to put more air in after i was done.

yeah... It was a lot of fun. Traction was terrible, but it was cool spinning the tires from 1 -> 2. I can see how some people get addicted to this

Great Run!
Now if you had some tires and lighter wheels you would be in the low 14s.
We had a track meet in Texas this past weekend and everyone was runnning between 14.6 and 14.9.
Notice my sig and see what just a set of tires with lighter wheels will do to your 1/4 times.

Ruf, I'm working on the rims. I've been trying to get a set of rims from an 03, as they are slightly lighter... i think. I wish i could swing $1500 for a set of SSR Competitions though. I am thinking about S03's for tires though.

In my opinion, I would stay under 19lbs for the wheel and 21lbs for the tires. My Konig Appeals were 18lbs and the Toyo's were 20.8lbs. Based on a quick weighing at the tire store I drop right around 10lbs per wheel/tire combo. That's alot when considering that we don't have a lot of torque.
Based on other cars that night, and my own testing, I dropped about 3-tenths off my times with just this change. Matter of fact, one of the guys has a WDP TLS just like mine, except he has headers (and better tires) and dynoed 23hp more than. But I still beat his times consistently. So tire and wheel weight do make a big difference in your times, assuming you drop enough weight.

As for the wheels, try konigwheels.com and check out the 2002 line of wheels, and look at the Appeals Silver Machine Face Finish.
If you want to see how it looks on a WDP TLS let me know and I'll see if I can send you a pic.

800 in rims, plus about the same in tires is still out of my range. PLEASE, someone trade me your 03 rims for my 01's!!! I know there is a bunch of you just using them for your snow set.
chaptorial, thanks, I was impressed too. I think blasting rage against the machine helped some too.
