03 Exhaust

For anyone that has an 03 Type S 6 speed the comptech axelback exhaust bolts right up without a problem.....the AEM CAI doesn't, but you can make it fit. The both combined sound amazing, just letting 03 Owners know

Is there something structurally different form the 01, 02 from the 03?

I’m sure the other 2003 6-Speed owners would appreciate some photos of the AEM CAI install.

If you have the 6 speed 03, it has Limited Slip instead of the VSA. For some reason, the AEM CAI is not a perfect fit without the VSA!!! Something to do with the rubber boot that is between the air and the intake. Shawn put the Xephyr on his car and it fit fine, but the Xephyr uses that rubber piece. The AEM and the Injen both elimate that piece. I don't know the specifics, maybe Shawn can shed some light!!

There MAY be a problem with the AEM intake because of the way it goes all the way past those two lines near the throttle body.
There is nowhere for that rubber insert on the AEM design to attach to without modification.

Check out these TWO photos.

2001/2002/2003 AUTO is like this

2003 6-SPEED

Notice the short metal piece is gone on the 2003.
I think this only applies to the 6-Speed because of not having VSA.

I would really appreciate seeing some photos. I was going to buy an AEM this week.

I'll see if i can take some digital pics and pos them. BUt the throttle body on the 01 is farther out than the 03 and i was afriad that that exhaust wouldn't fit but it bolts right up. I'll try and get the pics up by tomorrow

WTF

Why do you keep busting me for that OVER AND OVER again ???
I’m not bragging about anything this time, I’m just trying to help some fellow 2003 owners fit the AEM on their car.

The AEM intake may not fit, but INJEN makes one that does fit the '03 exactly. I am getting it this weekend and I will take some photos and try to post them for you guys. I hope they arent lying to me, cause if they are I will be pissed.
