Well it was a short lived run between me and a 96 240SX yesterday afternoon. I was cruisin around when I pulled up next to a modded S14 at a light. I thought maybe he had a SR20DET swap but I'm guessing he didn't since after 2nd gear I pulled like a freight train on him. I was fiddling with my camera trying to get it into movie mode when the light turned green and he got a major jump on me, but like I said, once I was in 2nd I pulled right by him. I had a 95 240SX with mods and I loved that car, so it was nice to see one and get to play a little. Plus there's just something about my FWD > RWD, even if I have 100 hp +/- over him stock!

Nice..The swap alone shouldn't put it past us but its still a great motor and car. My boy got a JDM SR20DET clip that he's doing a swap on right now.

thats cool, i think those are the best looking 240s the 96 ones.. is that the last year they made it? noob moment here, i dont know much bout nissan but is the s14 the stock engine in a 240? and what engine is the sr20det??

I love the body shape of the S14's too. 1998 was the last year, but the 95-98's all look pretty similar, just slight boby accent changes from what I remember. The stock engine is a 155 hp 2.4 L4, I want to say k24 something or other. The SR20DET is the engine out of the japanese S13 and S14. It's a 2.0 liter turbo and has 200+ hp.

I tried trading it into a Honda dealership for the down payment on my then new 2004 Civic Si, but they only wanted to give me $1000. They pulled me into the office and tried their best to convince me there was no demand for my 240SX. So I put it in the local paper and got $4000 for it. Needless to say I bought my Si from a different Honda dealership.

ka24's are dogs at first, but popularity have been growing over the years, so they have serious potential now. nice kill, but i think you would have been able to take a lightly modded SR20 aswell.

Not sure how that would've panned out, that's why I raced him, hoping it was a SR20. I know there's one around so it's only a matter of time.
