I have an 03 CL-S 6 speed with I/h/test pipe/exhaust, so im on the road and I see a nicely done up Cobalt SS hauling ass. This thing sounded nasty, I mean in a good way. He was in front of me and everytime he would floor it and shift gears his exhaust would sometimes shoot a blue flame out. This thing was far from stock, so I new my car surprises me everytime I run someone so I said what the hell, let me screw with him and see how badly I get beat. I got next to him and dropped it into second at about 40mph popping my car back and forth, so i jumped on it a millosecond before he did, second we were side by side, third the same, as soon as I hit forth his nose got in front of mine. We did it again from a 40mph roll and from a 60mph roll and it was the same everytime. I couldnt believe that we were just about identical. So we pulled over and talked, he had I/H/E and an aftermarket turbo pushing 15 lbs of boost. To me it didnt make any sense I would of thought that he would destroy me, but like I said my car always surprises me. Im sure now that my car could take a stock Cobalt SS. I need to take my car to the track but I honestly think these CL's are only fast while they're rolling, because from a stop I get pretty bad wheel hop and if its not wheel hopping its roating the tires.

Damn crazyy lol, i raced a turbo cobalt ss in my 02 cl's..Got ate lol.
like a 45 roll..Had me by about 3 cars..Couldn't catch it..
i'm all stock, i don't know what he had in there but i heard BOV..haha.

I have a 03 CLS6 w/ i/h/ TB spacer and pullies and raced a 09-10 turbo colbalt SS too he said he just had exhaust....

we did the same thing 40 roll - about 100 and it was dead even- we pulled over and talked for a bit and he was like" WTF do u have in that thing" they are high 13 second cars out of the box.... with that being said im kind of hesitant to believe he had an aftermarket turbo or he would be pushing close to 12's.

anyway good run i know mine was fun!

I don't understand why he would have an aftermarket turbo to run just 15psi. Factory turbo is more than cabable of running 15 psi.

its not always about upping the boost. a bigger turbo allows u to push more air at a lower psi. blue flames means he was running rich. he was probably untuned. seems to be the case with the cobalt guys, they drop in parts but very few actually tune

I am suprised you were right with him. Even a stock 09-10 Cobalt SS turbo traps 103-104MPH easy. Nice runs!
