Question 03 cl-s 6 Center Console

I am going to be tightening my E-Brake today. I searched and found all the information needed on doing it.

The only question I have is on the two silver panels that run the length of the center console.

How do they connect?
Are they double sided taped on?
Do they snap into place?
When is the best time to try and take them off; before or after taking the screws out?
Are they hard to get back on? Do I need to get some double sided tape?

Any info that you guys could add would be greatly appreaciated.

They snap in & down. So pry the little edge right under the arm rest first up & then you'll figure it out.

Excellent, I did this yesterday and my e-brake is finally working agian. Before I did this I counted like 19 clicks LOL and fully engaged it did basically nothing. Now its max at around 8ish clicks and if I pull it while driving it actually stops my car.

The console came out really easy, only a few bolts, anyone with a loose e-brake I suggest that you do this, you can also clean out all the crap that gets stuck in there.

Ahh... did you adjust it using only the fine adjustment in the console only ??

If so, you better make sure the rear brakes aren't dragging...

The rough adjustment is back there, and you need to make sure that the brakes aren't dragging or they'll wear out prematurely. Inskip Acura messed up and had to replace the rear pads on my car

Just figured I mention it... You probably did it right, but since you only mentioned the console

I only did the adjustment in the console, but I jacked the back of the car up so I could spin the tire. I tightened the ebrake until it put tension on the tire, then I backed it out a little bit. All in all my ebrake is actualy a brake again. and not a lever to no where. lol

Cool... just wanted to make sure you weren't going to burn out the rear brakes...

Checking that the rear tire spins freely is escential... and now this info is here for future reference...

adjusting the rear brake is through the center console and not the calipers?

There are two adjustments that can be made. For me the wire had way to much slack on it, so adjsuting the nut made it taunt. For me just adjusting that made the brake work again.

For some you also need to adjust at the brake on the rotor itself. I'd say try the center console first, if that doesn't do it then move to the tire.
