03 CL Navi & Poly Question_Canada
I have a 2003 6 speed with Navi originally from California now in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
Navi:
I have reviewed all the forums on the navi system and have some unanswered questions. From what I gather, a NAVI dvd for 'Northern USA' will contain information for the southern parts of Canada, mainly BC and Ontario. As I live in Vancouver-BC, this would be perfectly fine.
Question is, what is the most recent DVD version we can use on our cars? Any ideas on who would carry this? Some people say the 04 TL DVD will work, which I am not sure is true b/c its dual layer versus our single layer system. Called Alpine and they have no answers except to say they have nothing available for our cars.
Poly Mounts:
I have 3 brand new OEM mounts (front and sides). I have read all the recent posts. These will be going in to the car in a few weeks. Question is, I am not clear on what is the simplest thing to do to them with the 80a poly to stiffen them up. Do we just fill them in all the open areas, let sit for a week, and then remove the duct tape? Just looking for some clear step-by-step directions. The comprehensive recent post is still somewhat unclear to me.
Thanks all...
Suspekt

Yea, basically tape up one side then fill them in slowly till the top. The air bubbles will come out after awhile. They will be hard to the touch in abour 45mins, but fully cured in about a week. The front mount is probably what gives people the most confusion. After I filled it from the top I realized I should have done it the opposite way; tape the top off and fill from the bottom. It makes it easier that way. You don't need to take the mount apart, the DIY was just showing what was inside. It's really straigh foward once you sit down and look at the mounts.

I really don't think the southern part of Canada is included. I can't scroll past the northern boarder of Washington when I try on mine. Maybe the newer maps include it but I can't say for sure.

The caulk is similar but not quite as good. The stuff online is a liquid that dries to a solid.
